I pointed out how the capstan could be raised with about twenty turns of a special t-handle wrench they would need to take with them, and how that same wrench could then be used to run the capstan forward and in reverse. I showed them how to use the same wrench to flip a topside cleat and lock it in place. I showed them the location of the hawser locker, and explained that the hawser would be tied to the sides of the locker with short pieces of line. I said to cut the retaining line, and told them to bring several feet of line with them to secure the hawser back in the locker when they were finished.
