Chapter 9: Rose

“Dam this bloody storm Cinders, I thought it would pass by now!” Zoe cursed as she was slapping herself to keep warm. The storm was still howling at it was almost dark now. Of course she had been stupid enough to leave her watch and phone in her room. Why would she need them for a massage?
“Who knows maybe he hasn’t noticed? I am pretty sure I don’t mean that much to him and be replaced soon anyway” Zoe thought sitting on a rock watching the lightning flash.
Akihiko had indeed noticed and was trying to control his temper. Ena had arrived looking worried and had to stop Akihiko going out and searching himself.
“It is too dangerous in this storm! She has a good head on her shoulders - she will have found shelter somewhere” Ena said to a pacing Akihiko.
“What I don’t understand is why she would go out anyway! She told the massage therapist she was ill and then went for a walk!” Akihiko snapped.
“My dear boy, sometimes people say things that are not true!” Ena said
“Meaning you think she said it to get out of that place. So ...something must have upset her” Akihiko said stroking his chin.
“Shall I get the Massage Therapist?” Ena said
“Please do!” Akihiko said.
A few minutes later, the Massage therapist arrived in Akihiko’s room clearly shaking.
“My Emperor” they said bowing
“As you know Zoe has gone missing. She is a very important person to me and I a concerned something might have happened whilst in your care to make her go off” Akihiko said staring neither his cold eyes.
“Emperor?” The Massage Therapist asked
“We want you to tell us what happened. Please recall what was said in both English and Japanese, as Zoe is fluent in both” Ena said kindly. The old good cop, bad cop routine often worked and Ena had it down to a fine art.
“She speaks Japanese?” The Massage Therapist said their eyes opening wide with fear.
“Tell me what happened and don’t even think about lying. You won’t like the consequences if you do” Akihiko growled.
“I ...was massaging her and making conversation, when” The massage therapist said in a nervous voice.
“Go on child” Ena said kindly.
“When another employee came in and was....disrespectful to Zoe. I told her to stop it and get out. Miss felt unwell and went soon after...had I had known Emperor, I swear...” The Massage Therapist said as a loud boom of thunder sounded.
“What was said?” Akihiko said
“Emperor...please” The Massage Therapist said
“Please child, I know it is difficult but you must answer. The Emperor had been extremely lenient, but do not push him” Ena said sensing Akihiko would explode soon.
“She said...that Zoe was a Gold Digging w***e and that you would be bored with her by next week. She also said that Zoe was just one in a long line and that we should not be respectful to a waitress” The Massage Therapist said looking at the floor.
“Who? Who dare say such a thing?!” Akihiko growled.
“Please Emperor, she is young and jealous..” The Massage Therapist said falling to their knees. They knew as soon as the name passed their lips the consequences would be dire. Especially if Zoe was harmed at all.
“I. Want. The. Name!” Akihiko said his body was shaking with rage.
“Rose. Rose Tanaka” The Massage Therapist said.
“You may go and say nothing about this to anyone” Akihiko said turning and looking back out the window. The Massage Therapist left in a hurry and Ena walked over.
“Don’t lecture me. I am not in the mood” Akihiko said
“I wasn’t. It is unfortunate your Ex Rose works here” Ena said
“Hardly my Ex, I spent a couple of nights with her. She thought she could become Empress that way, like most Of them” Akihiko said
“I always said there is consequences to sleeping around” Ena said and Akihiko said nothing.
“What do you want to do?” Ena said
“Find Zoe” Akihiko said
“Well that is a given. What about Rose?” Ena said
“Bring her here. I want to clear up a few things” Akihiko said not turning from the window.
“Yes Emperor, of course” Ena said removing himself.
“Come on Zoe! I need you here” Akihiko said. He shocked himself as it was the first time he ever said that about a women.
Zoe had decided that she would have to stay out all night.
“Sorry Cinders, looks like you are going to have to wait for your oats” Zoe said as she found a rock to tie the reigns around. She then leaned back against the cave wall and closed her eyes.
“Oh Cinders, I been a fool. How could I possibly believe Akihiko saw me as something other then a s*x toy?” Zoe murmured sleepily. I just say thanks, but no thanks. I don’t need my heart broken again, especially after I just mended it Zoe thought as she fell asleep.

“Akihiko! How nice it is to see you! I knew you would want to see me again” Rose said walking into Akihiko’s room. She had been Ecstatic when Ena had said He had wanted to see her.
“Rose, I wish I could say the same” Akihiko said coldly
“What do you mean Akihiko?” Rose said confused
“I am your Emperor Rose and you have ....displeased me” Akihiko said
“Displeased you? Well I am sure I could please you tonight, my Emperor” Rose said in a seductive tone. She wiggled over and place a hand on his chest. “Remember when I use to please you Akihiko? How you use to come with my lips round your c**k? I could do that now, just give me the world my Emperor”
“Oh Rose, I would never sleep with a b***h like you again” Akihiko said not looking at her.
“What?” Rose said shocked
“I will never sleep with you again” Akihiko said again firmly.
“Akihiko you don’t mean that! We were so good together darling, let me make you feel that good again” Rose said as she moved her hand down towards Akihiko’s groin.
“If you want to keep your hand, I suggest you remove it Rose” Akihiko said
“God you are really uptight. I can ..” Rose said again
“Enough! I did not bring you here for s*x, I brought you here to make things clear” Akihiko snapped
Rose removed her hand and took a step back. “Make what clear?” Rose said her eyes narrowing
“ That I am with Zoe and I will not tolerate her being insulted by anyone, especially you” Akihiko growled
“Zoe? The ugly waitress? I know you are only with her to make me jealous! But there is no need Akihiko, I am already yours! She does not get you like I do and she cannot satisfy your needs like I can” Rose said with her hands on her hips, pouting.
How the hell did I go out with this superficial woman? Akihiko said suddenly missing Zoe even more. He realised that they fitted so well.
“I will only say this once. You will never become my Empress and we will never sleep together again. If you come within 20 meters of Zoe again, I will make sure it is the last thing you do” Akihiko said
“You don’t mean that!” Rosé said
“Test me and you will find out! One last thing Rose, you will pack and leave this Island by tomorrow morning. If you are still here by then, you will be executed and thrown into an unmarked grave” Akihiko said.
“You..you can’t do that!” Rose gasped
“Can’t I? Do you forget who you are speaking to? I own most of the business in Hawaii and I have allies everywhere Rose “ Akihiko said his eyes flashed with anger. Rose realised Akihiko meant what he said and bowed her head.
“I will as you commend Emperor. Thank you for being so merciful” Rose said
“Leave my sight!” Akihiko commanded and Rose hurried out.
Ena came back in and said “I was expecting a body or at least a little blood!”
“I let her go, I must bare some responsibility for her actions” Akihiko said softly
“That is very mature of you Akihiko” Ena said surprised.
“I have my moments “ Akihiko murmured
“Knowing when to be strong and when to be merciful makes a strong leader. Maybe Zoe is teaching you the softer side of your character” Ena said thoughtfully.
“You do speak such rubbish sometimes old man” Akihiko grumped and Ena smiled.
Zoe is much more important then you know my dear boy Ena thought with a sigh.
Zoe had an uncomfortable night but she managed to get some sleep. When she woke up the sun was shinning and the wind was warm.
“Ready to go home Cinders?” Zoe asked as she got up. All her muscles had cramped from the cold, but apart from that she was no worse for wear. Zoe slowly made her way back to the stables. Zoe was amazed at the devastation the storm had caused.
Zoe got back to the stables and was amazed how quite it was. Normally there would be somebody around to look after the horse? Zoe thought as she tied Cinders up and went looked around.
“Hello?” Zoe asked. She just wanted to make sure Cinders was taken care of.
“Miss? Thank God you are back!” The stable hand from yesterday said.
“Yes, I am so sorry! The storm came in so fast, we had to find cover and...” Zoe was trying to explain. But the stable hand was too busy on the radio saying she had been found.
“Please come to the main building. You must be exhausted!” The stable hand said
“Let me help with cinder’s it is the least I can do..” Zoe said
“It is OK miss...” the stable hand started to say but Zoe heard a voice shouting.
“Zoe? Zoe? Where are you?” It was Akihiko. He saw her and rushed over engulfing her in his arms. “Thank the Gods you are alright! You had no idea how worried I have been, no idea!” Akihiko said burying his head in her shoulder.
“Why would you be worried about your latest Gold digging w***e Akihiko?” Zoe asked
“What?” Akihiko said confused as she pushed him away.
“I am not prepared to be your next w***e Akihiko, and I want to go home. Now” Zoe said staring right into his eyes.
