Sephora’s POV
Seeing how my body was when I woke up made me jump from the bed. It looked scary, like one who was beaten to a pulp last night. But I could remember everything, he didn't raise a finger at me, rather he fed me and I fell asleep—I'm certain he brought me in here as well. “But what's all these all over me? It looks like bruises gotten from lashes and are bleeding. Whoever did this on me is a genius in telling lies.” I thought and sat back on the bed.
“What do you think? Maybe he wants to convince that wench that we were beaten?” my wolf interfered.
I rolled my eyes, recalling when Sierra told him to punish me and he agreed. “It's true, then I should fake sick.'' I smiled and laid back on the bed, then covered my body with a blanket. I know he's doing all these just for me to believe that he's different, but it does not make sense since he will be getting married soon to Sierra.
Seconds turned to minutes and I dozed off, but a heavy knock on my head made me jump from the bed. It was Sierra, that wench! I grabbed the flower vessel on the table and almost hit it on her forehead, but King Jon walked in. “You forgot my order already?” I knew it, he loves her and will always be on her side.
“I won't let her touch me.” I retorted and pushed Sierra backwards, but luckily for her King Jon caught her or she would hit her butt on the floor. “Even when you become his Luna, I'll still give it back to you anyhow you want it,'' I warned her.
She bit her finger. “Those bruises are nothing to you, right? You have a death wish.”
I took a look at myself and grinned, lifted my face and my eyes caught King Jon smiling at me. He gave me a signal that I was yet to understand, but I guess it meant that I should pretend it was all bruises. I wonder what's going on in his mind that he did this.
I took a few steps closer to Sierra who was leaning on the King, I drew her away and clutched her throat.
“Sephora!” the King screamed and laughed silently. He must be going crazy, I can't just tell what's been going on with him since yesterday. “Look asshole! I'll kill you and bury you in his bedroom okay.” I pushed her back and walked to the bed slowly, faking that I was in pain and that she burst into laughter.
“Just take her out of my room,” I yelled, clenching my fist. He held her and they left, then I thought. “He's been acting weird. Does it mean he's enjoying my arguments with Sierra or he's truly going crazy? What sort of Lycan King is this?” I thought of going to see him and left the room. That will be my room from now henceforth—I won't stay in his bedroom again.
“Do you think he will let us?” my wolf asked but I couldn't answer that question. Anyhow, we'll pull through together.
I went into his room to see him laid down already, and Sierra wasn't with him. “Where did she go to?'' I startled him.
He hopped from the bed immediately. “Don't be a ghost…”
“You believe in ghosts huh? That's by the way, I came to ask some questions.'' I stood opposite him.
He shrugged his shoulders. “Whatever!”
“Share your problems with me, I'm your right-hand servant by the way.” I gestured.
He grimaced. “What do you mean? Did I ever tell you that I have any other problem if not you?” he replied calmly.
I licked my lips. I wonder when I became a burden to someone. “I hate being people's problems, so forget about me. You've been acting like you're going crazy, so just tell me what is going on with you—it looks weird.'' I shrieked.
He tried holding me but I stepped backwards. “Just comply with whatever you're seeing…” that was all. How do I comply when I look so stupid to him? I just hope he isn't up to something annoying. I was about to say a word again when an arrow flew towards his head...thankfully, he caught up immediately and dodged it.
I drew out my sword immediately, flying from one corner to another while beating away the arrows so they wouldn't come closer to him. He didn't just stand still and watch….when another arrow from a different direction almost hit me, he rushed over and saved me.
“You must leave this room….” he whispered to me but I shook my head. I can't leave him all alone to fight this by himself when I'm guessing that I am the target. “Let's do it together, I can't leave,” I replied to him and he agreed to it.
I had thought that it was just arrows, but the ceiling opened and a group of assassins hopped in.
“Pull out your second sword, you can't deal with them with just one,” he muttered to me. As a warrior, I walk around with two swords all the time, because if I am to face suicide killer assassins, a sword can't save my life from them.
I unsheathed the second sword, rushed to where his other sword was and threw it to him. It was a difficult battle with masked assassins in his bedroom, and the most surprising part was that none of the guards came in except his Beta.
The three of us joined hands and fought the assassins until they all vanished through the ceiling again. I picked up a piece of paper that fell from one of them and opened it.
“They're suicide killers….” King Jon said and his Beta agreed.
“Where is Sierra?” the Beta asked but got no reply.
It looks suspicious that she just left and this took place, but I don't think I have the right to talk about it.
“Looks like there's a traitor among your councils..” I gave him the piece of paper and he went through it as well. “I'm not shocked ... but something is suspicious,” he replied and pouted his lips.
I rolled my eyes. “Sierra’s disappearance?” I chipped in.
He gazed at me. “Why would you say that?”
I bowed to him. “I wouldn't apologize though, I only forgot that she's your Luna-to-be and would not make such plans.” I contorted my face.
He grinned again when I knew there was nothing funny about my statement.
“I love your swordsmanship….” he complimented and I feigned ignorance. “Can't you just have a change of mind? Tell me that you accept me and I'll welcome you—”
“Not when you already found your soulmate.” I retorted.
He came towards me. “You mean, if I kick her out you'll accept me?” he looked happy.
“I didn't say so, let's talk about that letter and how it will handled or the traitors will rebel against you.'' I shunned him and he agreed to it, acting like he was different.
“How do we start? We don't even know who's behind them.”
“I'll look into it myself. And trust me to behead Sierra if he has anything to do with this.” I turned to leave and recalled something. “The guards, what happened to them?”
“Before I came in, they already inhaled the sleeping gas and dozed off—even the maids,” Beta replied.
It was well planned so that no one would save him, but they were unaware that I was around.
“You're being so caring if you behead Sierra.” King Jon uttered. Does he even know when someone is serious? Everything looks like a joke to him.
I put my sword into the sheath. “I'm not caring, I'm only doing my work as your right-hand guard,” I explained to him and followed the same way the assassins made and left the room. He isn't aware how dangerous the throne can be to anyone on it—and I suspect a minister who had told me never to accept being his Luna, must have something to do with this.
