Frozen Butterflies

I'm walking out to Tias house across the street from mine when I get this eerie feeling someone is watching me. I always felt this way, for such a long time only this time is different. This time, I had a rush of butterflies and I stood in the middle of the street. Stuck my hand out past the umbrella and let the rain puddle in my hand. The reflection in my hand was the face of an animal but I wasn't scared. I felt like time froze for a moment, the rain fell in slow motion and I stuck my finger out to poke at it and it moved to the side I was so intrigued. Everything around me sounded muffled. All until I see tia waving her arms around at her doorstep yelling for me to get out of the way. A car was blaring its horn and I couldn't hear it until the butterfly feeling went away. I quickly ran toward her and entered her house.

"Electra, what the hell?!" As she slams her front door.

"Dude I had to run down the stairs in my towel because the car wouldnt stop honking, only to find you standing there! You stood there forever and why didn't you answer me?? You could have gotten hurt! I thought you hated the rain?"

I was stunned myself. I don't know what came over me I swear I couldnt help it. I couldnt even explain it.

"I--I dont know what to say I guess I just was thinking to much.." as I walked toward her stairs.

"I'm sorry electra, I'm so sorry I should have known. Look you just need to be careful even in the state of mind you are in but Overall im glad you're stepping out of your comfort zone with the rain."

She thought I was talking about my parents. I went with it. We head to her room so I can do the occasional indecision game with her. She is the WORST person to have to choose anything. If she could wear three dresses at once she probably would.

Everything I say yes to, she says no. As well as the opposite which is why I call it a game. Finally she made up her mind.

She picked out a flowy high waisted cream colored skirt with a bright red long sleeved crop top, and knee high beige boots to match. She also had the jocks jacket from Adam smitthin

He gave it to her at the grad after party. Adam is Mias brother, but he was a lot different and also friends with Adalius. Her dark brown hair was in tight curls and I liked the look on her.

"Your outfit is cute, You look like a virgin! Tonight might change that, adam told me adalius is single" She gives a devilish smirk.

"HA-HA, FUNNY! Ain't nothing like that happening tonight." I put my hand over my face as I blushed with a defeating smile.

"Your are so beautiful electra, seriously like how do you get blessed with effortless curls and hazel eyes and all you do is put some gloss on and BOOM! You're a damn model. Meanwhile, I'm over here using every product in the world to look or feel as close to normal as you" she pouts but I know it's all out of love. She hates how I'm so insecure. She quickly sprays me with a perfume that smelt like gardenia flowers.

"Happy birthday electra! Figured you could use a different scent other than the one you've had on for years. You know, the sad scent" she scoffs.

I cant help but laugh and smile. It did smell quite delightful.

"Thank you tia, I love you so much!" We hug and then head out.
