Mending a broken spirit

Shawns POV... "Shawn get your ass out here right f*****g now!"Shawns mother screamed for her. Shawn was in her room she is only allowed out when called for or when she needs to go to work or school. Shawn has her own apartment in the basment to keep her hidden. Her parents hate her and that she is still alive. Shawn is 19 years old she is in college to become a nurse. Her parents control her every move anything she dose has to get approval by them. They are the ones who chose for her to go to nursing school. Little do her parents know she loves it. They usually pick things for her that she would hate but she keeps this a secret. Shawn went up stairs to see what her mother was bellowing about. " yes mom what can I help you with". " Oh good your lazy ass is awake now go and get the dogs from the groomers it costs $175 for all 3 better not take my card again". Sandra spits at shawn with such venom. " yes mother I have cash dont worry". " Good now be gone oh and dont forget to pick up the groceries I ordered as well pick up is now". " Yes mother anything else?" "No you lazy fat peice of s**t get out of my face now you disgust me!" Shawn has never been able to escape her parents wrath. She has tried many times. Her grandmother her Naunie tried to save her many times from the hell she lived. After her Naunies death shawn became the shell of who she used to be. It was as if she had no more fight left in her. The only life she was given was coming from the support of her Naunie. Her Naunie gave her the strength to keep fighting to get away from the abuse. Now she has nothing to live for. Or so she thinks. Shawn get her purse and phone and keys and heads to the groomers to get the dogs. They are her brothers and her parents dogs 3 to be exact. They love Shawn Gunner is Jordands pit mix, Blue is Maxs german shpard she is silly, and Mac is Sandras dog he is a mut no one knows what he really is. Shawn has her own dog pua she is a border collie Australian cattel dog mix. Shawn knew she had to pay for the groomers and she could only afford the 3 dogs but she dose groom pua on her own. All the dogs have helped shawn in many ways. They stop her mother and father from beating her the dogs go after her parents. They have to make sure that the dogs are not around before they beat her. If the dogs were around then the dogs would be going after who ever was beating shawn to make them stop. If the dogs were not put away her parents would beat her more after they stopped the beating. Shawn was looking forward to graduating from college with her bachelors in nursing. Shawn could have sat for the NCLEX after her associates but she chose not too. She wanted to wait untill she graduated with her bachelors not her associates to have a better chance at a job. Shawn wants to be an ER nurse she has an offer from her current job pending the results of her exam. She got the bug from her dad about working in the ER because her dad is a volunteer fire figter and EMT. How he was able to get away with abusing her no one knows. Shawn and her Naunie believe its becuase they make up lies that Shawn will just make up a fake story just for attention. Thats manily why her abuse has gone unnoticed. When the abuse has been noticed by her Dr when cps was called her her being under weight there was nothing anyone could have done. Shawn is tiny at 5'0'' with chocolate brown curly hair with big mesmerizing blue green eyes a button nose and plump pink lips and a heart shaped face. The only thing large about shawn was her chest she got her DD's from her mother. With how beautiful she looked all the men flocked to her but she was not allowed to date. She was ment to stay pure for her husband. Her parents were very religious people but not Shawn. How could she when she felt as if the universe hated her for what she had to endure. Once Shawn arrived back at home with the dogs and the groceries. It was 5:30 she got the dogs all settled and fed and let out and dinner was finished and ready for her fmaily to eat. Shawn snuck away to her room to take a quick nap before getting up for her 8-8 shift and school in the morning. Shawn worked at a hospital in the ER as a tech. She would take extra shifts to cover the cost of school and her parents exapences that they made her cover. She would also have to shadow nurses at the hospital her favorites to help with her education and clinical rotstions. At 7:30pm Shawn woke up to her alarm and got out of bed and walked to her bathroom to take care of business. She got ready for work in her scrubs and off she went on a hot summer night it was going to be a long shift. Summers were always the worst time of year for her due to how busy the ER was. Shawn had a short drive to work when she arrived she clocked in and got her report. She rounded on her patients and took vitials she was waiting on a few orders. She soon got into a groove for the night just before her lunch she got a new admit to the ER. She went to introduce herself and get some vitals and take down the patients info for the Dr on shift when she saw him. The man of her dreams Mr. tall dark and handsome.
