chapter 3
Victoria leaned forward, resting her head against the black dragon's neck. She felt a sense of exhaustion wash over her, as if the events of the past few hours had finally caught up with her. The wind whipped through her hair, now a brilliant white, and she closed her eyes, letting the rhythm of the dragon's wings lull her into a deep sleep.
"This world is not like the novel," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the wind. "It's more cruel, more unforgiving. I never thought I'd become Victoria, but here I am."
As she spoke, Victoria felt herself becoming one with the dragon, their hearts beating in sync. She felt a sense of peace wash over her, as if she had finally found a place where she belonged.
The black dragon, sensing Victoria's exhaustion, wrapped its wings around her, shielding her from the wind. It spoke in a low, rumbling voice, "I am the King of Dragons. My friend once asked me to protect her child, but I was too late. This girl's power is overwhelming, and I need to get her to him."
The dragon's thoughts turned to the man it had been searching for, the one they called the "Evil Sorcerer". But the dragon knew the truth - that this man was not evil, but rather a complex soul with a heart as cold as ice.
"He's the only one who can help her," the dragon continued, its voice filled with concern. "He's the only one who can teach her to control her powers, to wield them for good instead of evil."
The dragon's eyes narrowed, its gaze fixed on the horizon. "But we're not the only ones searching for him. There are those who would seek to use Victoria's powers for their own gain, to exploit her for their own evil purposes."
The dragon's wings beat harder, propelling itself and Victoria through the skies at incredible speed. The wind rushed past them, a deafening roar that filled their ears, but the dragon didn't falter, driven by its mission to save the young girl.
As they flew, the landscape below them changed, shifting from rolling hills and verdant forests to towering mountains and deep, dark valleys. The dragon navigated the treacherous terrain with ease, its wings beating steadily as it carried Victoria closer and closer to their destination.
Finally, after what seemed like hours of flying, the dragon began to descend, its wings slowing as it prepared to land. Victoria stirred, her eyes fluttering open as she looked around, taking in their surroundings.
They were standing in a small, secluded valley, surrounded by towering mountains that stretched up to the sky. A small cottage stood in the center of the valley, smoke drifting lazily from its chimney.
The dragon spoke again, its voice low and rumbling. "We're here," it said. "This is where you'll find the one who can help you, Victoria."
Victoria slid off the dragon's back, her legs shaking slightly as she stood on the ground. She looked up at the cottage, a sense of trepidation building in her chest.
"Who is he?" she asked the dragon, her voice barely above a whisper.
The dragon's eyes seemed to gleam with a knowing light. "You'll see," it said. "Just remember, Victoria, you are not alone. You have me, and you have the one who lives in that cottage."
Victoria took a deep breath, steeling herself for what lay ahead. She walked towards the cottage, the dragon watching her every step of the way.
As she approached the door, Victoria could feel a strange energy emanating from within. It was a power unlike anything she had ever felt before, a power that seemed to call to her very soul.
She raised her hand, hesitating for a moment before knocking on the door. The sound echoed through the valley, but Victoria power running Wilde she past out.
