Married to the Prince
Camilla
I know that this is supposed to be the happiest day of my life, but I can’t help but wonder if there is another that can take my place. I know that in the vampire community there are lifemates, I haven’t found mine. This wedding is going on because my parents promised me to someone when I was younger and now that I am almost the age to where I will be drawn to my mate… they don’t want that. I am not a princess, but they want me to marry into the royal family so that they can pay off a debt they owe.
Sorry… I am just rambling on and I haven’t introduced myself. My name is Carmen McCall and I am a vampire. I am the oldest of my siblings and I am a nervous wreck. Today is my wedding and I have never met the prince that I am about to be married to. As far as I know, he is handsome and just as nervous as I am (or so I’ve been told). You never know how a person feels about things unless you talk to them. I sigh, then get out of bed to look out of my window. The sun is almost set and I really need to be getting ready.

What were my parents thinking when they made this agreement with the McCall’s. I knew that they were collecting a debt, but I didn’t know that they’re terms were marriage. Why would they want to marry me off without my consent. I have seen the girl throughout the different stages of her life and although she is attractive, I don’t want to just be thrown into a relationship with her. I guess this would be a good time to get to know her and find out if we could like one another. I know that my lifemate is out there and I don’t want either of us blocking that.
My thoughts are getting away from me and you don’t even know who I am. My name is Rafe Hamilton and I am the eldest of the royal siblings here in the castle. I have two younger siblings and I love them dearly. My mother’s name is Juniper and my father is Leonard. I take a deep breath and climb out of bed, I know that the sun is about to set as my room is getting darker as I lay here… knowing that I have to get ready for my wedding.

Fresh out of the shower, I wrap my wet hair in a towel and get another to dry off and wrap my body in so that I can walk around in my room. I close the door to my room and sigh as I look around. This is the last day I will be in here and I want to remember what I called my sanctuary for the last time. I walk to my dresser and get underwear and bra to put on. I hear a knock at my room door as I finish putting my underwear and bra on. “Come in.” I say as I walk towards the full-length mirror. My sister Annabelle walks in and smiles at me. “How are you sister?” She asks as she comes up behind me and gives me a hug. “I am nervous, but that is to be expected.” I said as I lift my arms to cover hers. “I know that this is supposed to be a happy day, but I have a feeling that something is going to go terribly wrong.” “Why is that sister?” Annabelle asked as she let me go to come around and face me. “Do you not think that this prince will treat you right?” I look at my sister and sighed, then looked at myself in the mirror. It was not that I didn’t think he would treat me right. It was the whole lifemate thing. “What if he is not my lifemate?” I asked as I turned and walked to the closet where my dress was hanging. “I mean, if that is the case… how will he act if I find my true lifemate?” I ask as I take my dress off the hanger and stepped in it to pull it up my body. Annabelle came over and helped me into my dress and buttoned it up in the back. “I’m sure if that was to happen, you both would know what to do.” She said and smiled at me. You look amazing.” She said and grabbed my hand. “Now, lets do something with your hair.” She said and pulled me towards my dresser to sit me on the chair that was in front of it.

Standing in front of the mirror in my room, I already wish that this day was over. I sighed as I got dressed and made sure that everything was just right when I heard a knock at the door. “Come in.” I said and the door opened to reveal my brother Kevin. I looked over at him as he stood in the doorway, then turned to walk to my dresser to retrieve my crown to put on my head. “Are you just gonna stand there or are you coming in Kevin?” I said as I stood in front of the mirror again. Kevin walked in and closed the door before turning to me. “Are you sure you want to go through with this brother? What about your lifemate? How will this look whenever you find her?” He asked and came up behind me to help straighten my crown. I looked at his reflection and sighed. “I don’t know what I will do in that situation, but I don’t want to think about that right now.” I said, then turned to face him. “This is supposed to be a happy day Kevin. Please don’t be sad. There is plenty of time to think about that.” I said as I turned to walk to the door. “Come Kevin,” I said as I opened the door and turned towards him. “We can’t keep our guests waiting.” I watched as he walked to the door and out. I followed him out and closed the door to my bedroom behind me.
