The Grey Wolves MC Series - Maxine

It's been awhile since my father's been home drunk. I'm surprised that he hasn't barged into my room again with the intention to beat me, more to his enjoyment with his friends messing everything up downstairs. I'm actually glad that I haven't gotten a beating before my seventeenth birthday. I look down at my hand watch and it shows it's five-thirty six indicating that I need to get to work before six o'clock to be at Joe's dinner. I've worked there for two years since I was thirteen and needed a job to get money for groceries and things that I needed to take care of myself and my little brother. Kent never liked me or my brother calling him father unless we were all in public or with family friends because they all saw what he wanted them to see. And what looked like a happy family on the outside, on the inside father was a drunk as well as an abusive husband and father from what I can remember since I was twelve. When Henry was six he didn't resemble Kent in any way so he had him do a paternity test which came out negative I assume because after that Kent started his beatings and calling our mother a sl*t as well as naming a bunch of sh*t to me about my relation to him, which I understood to avoid him as much as possible, I understood that being in his way would end up me being bruised and unable to pay for meals and get to school on time and have to be ready for work late at night working at a club when I turned fifteen, I wasn't allowed to drink or dance but serve the VIP drinks on the second floor of the club. I knew well that this club was out of town where we lived and made sure to get the bus on time before school, work, and to take care of Henry whenever I needed anything all I needed to do was ask uncle Daniel, he owned the club and knew that I needed the money from my job as a server because he knew my situation as well as the amount I got payed working at Joe's wasn't enough for me and my brother even with my mother's passing this year not working meant not having enough to eat at the end of the day. Whenever I left the house I never had anything on that was even a little revealing and made sure not to show any bruising. I rarely went to school in person but I was a straight A student with a graduating GPA, I made sure my work got turned in on time or before the due date which uncle Dan made sure of before hiring me for my job at Daisy's Club - MC which I think at the time was under one of the motorcycle clubs in this town. But I rarely saw anybody with motorcycle jackets on but I was warned to never be rude to any one of the bikers if I ever ran into them on my shift by uncle Dan with a stern voice and serious face telling me to take this matter seriously which I did because I was too little to take care of myself at all even if I was still growing I'm still 4'5 feet tall so I take note that I must never be out of the club late after closing because there were times where some folks would try to grab hold of the girls coming out of the club without any men there to protect them from danger. ***** ***** Two years went by quickly as I got used to things at the club and at Joe's, I graduated early from high school and got my diploma. It's hanging on the wall at Daisy's because uncle Dan wanted something of mine in the place because I've been the longest worker there, all the dancers or servers and bartenders leave but little of them stay in this town which was alright with me I got payed more and I sometimes brought Henry to town with me and I had him set up at a babysitters home while I worked and hung out with him when I was free. A week went by smoothly as I was still working at Daisy's and changed my schedule at Joe's to be more flexible to Henry and spend more time with him. I had to work from nine to eleven-forty because I didn't want to be awake too early in the morning from a late night at work and be too tired during the day not doing anything with him and to get him out of the house and away from Kent. "Where do we have an adventure now bud?" I ask as I drive my truck out of town from picking up Henry from school and we head to the small apartment I have near work because I need to change my clothes. "Water...castle!" He says excitedly and I smile at his enthusiasm ever since he was little. He would get excited about anything involving an adventure and even though he had trouble pronouncing things he was still smart. Ever since Kent found out he wasn't his, he would bash Henry's head with his fists or bump him against a wall, I tried to protect him every time I was home before mother came home and would blame me for not protecting my brother but in the end I didn't save Henry from any brain damage that was caused from the many impacts which stopped his speech development to grow to understand and make full sentences. "I know, we'll go to the water park this afternoon. I just need to let my bosses know that I'm gonna take time off to go with you alright?" I say to him as we park in front of our apartment. "After I change we'll go see uncle Dan," I said as I turned off the truck which he replied with a huge smile on his face. I sometimes let Henry be at work and he would hang out with uncle Dan whenever he wasn't busy with work, he'd always take him out to some place so that he never saw what happened in the club. ~~~~~ ~~~~~
