Daniel Okafor arrives at university believing that getting admission is the hardest part of his journey. He soon discovers that university life comes with challenges nobody prepared him for—financial pressure, difficult courses, friendship problems, family expectations, and choices that could change his future.
When Daniel meets Amara, a brilliant student carrying problems of her own, their friendship slowly becomes one of the few things keeping them together.
But university is not only about lectures and examinations. It is where Daniel will discover who his real friends are, how far people will go for money, and what it truly means to take responsibility for his future.
With graduation still years away, Daniel must learn an important lesson: sometimes the weight of tomorrow begins with the choices you make today.
CHAPTER ONE: THE FIRST DAY
Daniel stood outside the university gate with one hand gripping the handle of his old travelling bag.
Students moved around him in every direction.
Some were laughing loudly. Others dragged boxes toward the hostels while parents followed behind them, carrying bags and giving last-minute advice.
Daniel simply stood there.

Mum: Remember why you're there. Don't let anybody distract you.
Daniel stared at the message.

His mother sold food by the roadside. His father repaired electrical appliances from a small shop near their house.
There was no spare money.
No wealthy relative waiting to rescue him.
Daniel knew that if he failed, it wouldn't only be his failure.
He would be disappointing the people who had trusted him.
He put his phone into his pocket and walked through the gate.
The first thing he noticed was how big the campus was.
Buildings stood on both sides of the road. Students walked quickly toward different departments. Vendors shouted from small shops while motorcycles moved along the road outside the lecture halls.
Daniel checked the paper containing his hostel information.
Block C — Room 17.
"Block C..."
He looked around.
"Where is Block C?"
He walked for almost ten minutes before realizing he had gone in the wrong direction.
He sighed.
"University has started already."
A voice behind him suddenly spoke.
"You're looking for Block C?"
Daniel turned around.
A girl stood there with a backpack hanging
