Kaylee and Jonathan

Kiyia Bentley was born in a little country town called Wise, VA on March 30, 2004. As Kiyia recalls, she was two when she first started to learn how to read and write cursive. She would sit down with her mamaw everyday until she started head start just to read a book. At the age of 5, Wise Primary School wanted to skip her to the 3rd grade. Her mamaw refused due to the older kids having boobs and other things. She thought it would make Kiyia feel bad about herself. As years went by, Kiyia finally made it into middle school, where she decided that English was her favorite subject. She started writing songs and playing banjo at the age of 9. She slowly progressed herself into writing poems and playing guitar. When her mamaw passed away at the age of 12, she was devastated. She decided that she wasn't going to continue her career in music. Later on at the age of 14, she picked it back up thanks to one person, who she fell in love with. His name was Jay Sexton. She slowly starts working on writing books and she picks back up her song writing just for him and her mamaw.
