A deep sinking in my gut spread as I consoled my friend. She used to say all men were the same when we would read something about a man dumping his wife after cheating on her. I would smile and say, except Devon, and she would smile shyly and agree with me.
The first time I met Devon was three months after Amy decided I would be her friend. It was on a weekend, and they were still living in a studio apartment. We were binge watching Golden Girls when he came in. I thought he was the most handsome man and perfect for my friend.
