I had a maid prepare chamomile tea for Amy while I soothed and rubbed her back. She was obviously still not over what happened. She was crying profusely.
“Mrs. Nicholas, this is the tea.“ Trina came back shortly with a small tray and a cup of tea.
“Amy, darling, have a cup of tea. It's soothing.“ I coax her like a baby until she agrees to have a sip. My daughter watches curiously, and soon, as she grows bored of watching us, she skips off to her room.
“Do you want to tell me what's going on now?“ It seems like she's going to burst into another round of tears. I shut that down fast.
“Trina, can you ask Nunu if there's anything to eat?“
“Yes, Mrs. Nicholas.“
