Holy Sh__!

Phoenix Only in Chicago would it be four seasons in one day. Right now it is raining like cats and dogs. I sat in my office with a headache that could defy all odds. Mari and Tonya hadn't shown up for work and that majorly sucked when you ran a business together. Shit had gotten real last night. I was surprised I was able to hold it down. I was worried about my girls but I couldn't remember a lot of details from the night before. Going to the police with iffy info about missing persons was a no-go. I would have been the suspicious one in that scenario. I locked up for the night and headed home. Our Art Gallery business did really well to take the next day off. Had to get my facts straight before I went to search tonight. Arriving home, I couldn't help noticing someone standing on the porch. On instinct were my blade and mace. My self-defense lessons were about to be put into play. The closer I got, the person looked more familiar. "Hey, don't I know you?" "You should, considering I saved your life," he said, removing the hood from his head and looking at me. "Mutha Fucka!" I sprayed the mace directly into his face. "What the f**k!" he didn't even cringe. His eyes were red though, so I knew it. That definitely knocked me off my square for a moment. "Are you mad? I came to see if you were doing alright." "Ha!" I said, unlocking my door and rushing inside. Relieved that he hadn't tried to come in or it would have been a problem. "Where are my friends?" "Can you at least let me in first?" he asked. " Hell no! You are still a stranger." " Come on Phoenix, don't be like that." "Excuse me, I wasn't aware we were friends." My door was locked and closed, but we continued to argue over it. "s**t, I should have known you would be difficult. Look, I know where your friends are. You can't go to the police. It isn't safe." "What do you mean?" I asked, opening my door to look at him but leaving the screen door locked. "Can we not talk about it on your doorstep?" he sniffled. The mace did get to him. I felt bad for spraying him, but he wasn't coming into my house. I closed the door again, this time to get some things for him. Every curse word in the universe came from his mouth now. Smiling about it, I took my time a bit. Thirty minutes later, I found him on my porch steps with his face in his hands. "Use this, it will hurt a little less." I handed him a kit with a warm towel for his eyes. Sitting next to him as he began applying for treatment. "Thanks," he said. For a while, we sat in silence. "Are you going to tell me or not?" "Before I do, prepare yourself." "For what?" "Your friends will not be who they used to be," he said. I noticed that his eyes had cleared pretty fast. "That means we should go to the police." "I don't think you heard me clearly, the police can't help with this." "Why?" "Because this isn't something a human being can do." I laughed then, yup, that was a joke. "Okay, so I guess this is the part where you tell me you're not human." He turned toward me then, his eyes so captivating looking into mine. " Not exactly Phoenix, more like it's you that isn't human and if we don't leave now there will be no hope of saving your friends." "Wait a minute here! Now I know this is a prank. Ha! Ha! Guys nice one, you can come out now." I left him where he sat and headed to the back of the house to look for Mari and Tonya. This was just too crazy for words. "We are running out of time," he said. I ignored him and just kept looking. Those two were going to hear it because they scare me like that. "Could you at least look at me, so I can prove it to you?" "Ha! There is nothing to .............." He stopped me dead in my tracks when I looked up to see him. " Holy s**t!" I said. "Now do you believe me.".............................................................…
