Chapter 2

865 Words
Miranda personally placed the divorce agreement into a document envelope and, bringing her people with her, went straight to the bar where Cedric was located. The private room door was not fully closed. Just as she was about to push it open, a familiar, soft, playful laugh came from inside. "Cedric, just admit it. You always act cold and abstinent, but only I know how much desire you have for women deep inside. Are you happy now?" Through the c***k in the door, Miranda clearly saw Cedric was half-reclining on a sofa, while a disheveled woman was sitting on his lap, her gaze hazy as she tilted her neck back. Cedric let out a low chuckle, his large hand firmly gripping the woman's slender waist, not denying anything. Standing outside the door, Miranda witnessed Cedric sleeping with another woman. Her heart still felt like it was being torn apart. At that moment, the woman on him shook her hair, revealing half of a soft, innocent-looking face. Miranda immediately felt as if she had fallen into an ice cellar. She never expected that the woman entangled with Cedric Green was actually her own younger sister, Paige Jones! After their mother passed away, their father formed a new family and, aside from monthly living expenses, no longer cared about their lives or deaths. She and Paige depended on each other. They were all each other had. When she decided to marry Cedric, Paige even sent people to threaten him. "Cedric Green! My sister is the only person I care about in this world. If you dare to betray her, I will never let you go!" Cedric also swore to her, "Miranda is the love of my life. I will never betray her." Back then, Miranda thought she was the happiest person in the world. Both her family and her lover had sworn to protect her. But the scene before her now was like a slap striking her face. Love and family had simultaneously driven poisoned daggers into her body, leaving her riddled with wounds. Miranda's eyes turned blood-red, and she suddenly bent over and retched. She wanted to ask them why they had done this to her. Miranda waved her hand, and the bodyguards behind her immediately stepped forward and kicked the private room door open, rushing inside. "Get out! Who let you in?!" "Ah! Don't touch me! Do you know who I am? Cedric will kill you!" Cedric's furious roar mixed with Paige's screams filled the room. What met them was a brutal beating from the bodyguards. Miranda then walked in. Paige collapsed on the floor, her body covered in ambiguous marks. When she saw Miranda, her panic turned into smugness. "I didn't expect my sister to actually chase me here." Miranda did not even spare her a glance and walked straight to Cedric, who was being restrained by bodyguards. Slap! Miranda raised her hand and slapped Cedric hard across the face. "Did I do anything wrong to you? You can sleep with anyone, so why my own sister?!" Cedric's face was forced to the side, a clear handprint instantly appearing. "Cedric!" Paige screamed and tried to rush forward, but was held tightly by bodyguards. "Miranda! Which man doesn't have a few women outside? If you are so unromantic, Cedric will abandon you!" Miranda's heart felt utterly shattered. She slapped Paige across the face as well. "I have spoiled you since childhood. You had everything you wanted. Why him?!" Her voice was cold as ice. Paige covered her face and fell to the ground. Cedric's expression instantly darkened as he shouted, "Don't touch her!"' Miranda grabbed a nearby wine bottle and smashed it onto his head. Blood immediately flowed down from his forehead wound. Outside the private room, a crowd had gathered, watching the scene with interest. A ruthless glint flashed in Cedric's eyes. "Miranda Jones, are you done causing a scene?!" "When have I ever caused a scene?" Miranda looked at him coldly and pulled out the divorce agreement from her bag. "Cedric Green, the moment you betrayed me, divorce was the only option." The bodyguards forcibly held Cedric's hand and pressed his fingerprint onto the divorce agreement. Miranda looked at the bright red fingerprint, a trace of pain flashing in her eyes. Just as she was about to put the agreement away, Cedric suddenly clapped his hands. A group of people rushed into the private room, and Miranda's bodyguards were quickly overwhelmed. Cedric stood up, slowly straightening his sleeves, and picked up his suit jacket from the floor, placing it over the tearful Paige's shoulders. Then he turned and walked toward Miranda. He raised his hand and delivered an even heavier slap across her face. Miranda staggered back. The taste of blood filled her mouth, and her ears rang. Cedric snatched the divorce agreement from her hands and tore it into pieces, throwing them into her face. He grabbed her chin tightly, his voice chilling as he said, "Divorce? Miranda, do you really think you can find someone better than me after leaving me?" He paused, then suddenly smiled. "Fine. I’ll grant your wish. Lock her in a cage and send her to auction!"
