CHAPTER FOURT-ONE

Julie opened her phone only once and Eric's text and calls interrupted her. Whatever he did to Julie I know is not good just because of the sadness Julie feels now and the pain when she sees Eric’s name flash on her phone screen.
Sometime between our drives out of nowhere. We managed to stop by on a local diner and decide we should eat.
After Julie and I ordered food she went back to being quiet and often stared out the diner window, looking out at the raindrops hitting the window glass.
She was not aware that I fished out my phone to take a picture of her. I have to mentally engraved this sad look of Julie to remind myself not to make her this way.
When I snapped the photo, I just got her attention and she chuckle. "Let me see."
