Sara POV
"You should be with Lily. Why are you here?"
The Alpha's voice assumed its usual tone. The type that made you flinch if you were on the other end of the conversation.
"I had to come. It's important," Elise replied, matching his tone.
Then she switched to mindlink as her eyes moved from me to him.
"Ah, I see," Nick replied aloud. "And I'm supposed to sneak in my house because?"
Elise pursed her lips, displeased that he wasn't talking through the link. As she glared at him, I knew she was still speaking into his mind.
"Thanks for the heads up, mother. This is good, in fact."
Looking down at me, he said,
"There’s someone I'd like you to meet."
"Nick, you're being rash!" Elise warned. "I doubt she's mentally ready for things like this."
He ignored her and switched to mindl
