Jane POV Jake was nearby. He wasn't coming with us though. He'd said he understood why I chose my father's city. That it made sense. As much as I wanted to, I hadn't asked him to accompany me. Everyone was much calmer now. There was no more quarrelling. Things were better this way. He seemed resigned to that fact I would rather be in my father's woods.
