I was careless, damn it! This type of scenario was the reason wolves like me preferred human girls for casual flings. They were far less demanding and had pride. They understood self-respect. If you didn't return their calls, they took the hint and never bothered you again.
She-wolves were a different matter entirely. They pretended to move on until another female came into the picture. Basically, by their logic, you weren't allowed to date anyone until they were happily mated and settled.
