CHAPTER FOURTEEN
Paula had no idea what to do. She’d gone over her first ever conversation with Mikel time and time again. He’d given nothing away as to what he thought, how he felt. After she answered his questions, he’d just stared at her for a long moment, then had laid his head back and let her do her normal routine of checking vitals. He didn’t say another word to her as she’d left his room.
And she’d been too uncomfortable with the guard at the door to return at shift’s end like she always had before.
Where did things go from here? She honestly didn’t know.
