LAUREEN'S POV
When I came out of the bathroom with Sandra a few minutes later, Laura was gone already and Sandra did not fail to express her disappointment that she had not said bye to her.
“Are you okay, Laureen?" My mom asked and I nodded at her.
“I'm fine. I think it's partly because I did not have dinner last night, and I'm starting the morning with coffee.” I told her and she sat up anxiously.
“What's wrong with you, Laureen? Why would you stay hungry?” She queried.
“It's okay, mom. I'm here to force her out for a meal.” Sandra immediately chipped in.
" Please, take her with you.” My mom said, and I sighed in defeat as I was already feeling weak.
