'Flashback' The air was frigid as the snow sticks to the ground. I walked along an empty street my shoes were old and what I had in the backpack was all I was allowed to take from the house. It's been only 14 hours since I was informed that my parents had passed away. I was now alone and on the streets. I was only ten and before the landlord could throw me out I left. I was surprised the cold hasn't killed me yet. Since it had been one of the coldest winters in 4 years. I pulled my father's trench coat around me and sipped some hot chocolate from my mother's thermos she let me barrow in occasion when I had to walk to school. 'what will become of me now?' I thought to myself as I look around. There wasn't much around me and I couldn't remember how far I had walked. I looked around my jeans and plain shirt were slightly exposed since I was still pretty small at the time. I've seen many cars go by no one stopped for me though. I just looked like a normal ten year old girl walking somewhere. The area where my parents and I had lived was very beautiful exspually during the spring months. I brushed some sandy curls from my face as I adjusted the beanie on my head. Eventually I had reached a crossroad where I had no idea where I was going to go. I decided to keep going straight hoping to run into someone or something that could help me. I scratched the back of my neck as I stepped into the forest trying to find a house but staying close enough to be seen from the road. As the winds picked up and I shivered hard against the cold. When I find a hollow tree the thought of leaving wasn't an option. I curled up into the hollow of the tree and laid back. I clutched the bag I was holding to my chest. The thermal I was carrying I slipped into my backpack on top of all the clothes I managed to pack. After passing out I hear howling and growls. I opened my eyes terrified I had stumbled into a wolf den. when I crawled out of the hollow of the tree two large wolves stared at me Suddenly one of the wolves grabbed me by the collar and shook me violently. I cried as I'm shaken until I pass out again. I dreamed of my parents this time the dreams were of us on vacation at the beach and other places her parents took her. When I woke up I was laying on a cot in a small room. I trembled not knowing where I was or got there. I cried in my arms as I clutched my bag. The door to the room I was in was thrown open and I was dragged out in a very rough manner. "Where did she come from Tom?" a tall slender woman asked. her long brown hair reached her mid back and she wore a long dress that had a slip up to her knee. The beautiful woman looked to be in her late thirties or early forties. The woman looked at me with distasteful look. The man that stared at me and then looked at the woman. "She looks human, but her scent is like a wolfs" He looks at me. "so what are we to do with her?" the woman groaned clearly upset I was here to begin with. "She can cook and clean here, because I just figured out who her parents were" He held out a newspaper to the woman. "your telling me this is the daughter of those two rouges? the two who brought dishonor to our pack and then fled because of their debt?" She grinned evily. "now Luna I understand your thinking but no, wwe are just giving her a place to stay since she is so young, once she comes of age and finds her mate she will be long gone then" The man was a bit gentler than the woman. I didn't know what was my future was going to be but this didn't seem better than being an orphan on the streets. minutes after being told which rooms to clean and were the supplies I was sent into the make shift room that was provided for me. There was a cot with second hand blankets. At the end of the Cot was a three drawer side table. I pulled all the clothes out of my backpack which was only a weeks worth. I had some jeans and plain shirts with a couple of sweaters. In a spare pocket I pulled out some stockings that my mother had gotten me and tights for the winter. I used the three drawers for my clothes and put my thermos on the top along with a picture of me and my parents. I also had some personal things for myself and laid them down on the table. As I sit on my cot I looked at my broken phone and watched how it hadn't turned on in weeks. As I sorted my school supplies and put them back into my backpack. There was a lot of things I had to think about now. As I was alone in this small room and the thunderous footsteps echoed around my new room. Soon the door was thrown open a again and I was handed some uniforms for a maid. There were only a few outfits that we're handed to me. "Your tasks are to clean the entire house, cook for the family and there will be no disobedience from you, I don't want to hear back talking or any whining from j you" The Luna of the house said sternly. "Yes ma'am" I bowed my head as I looked at her calmly. "good go to the kitchen and I will make the schedule for you" She turned away and walked into a room just past the stair case where my room was. I was given the closet under the stairs. I promised from that day forward I would work for the man and woman who saved me from the cold. I walked into the kitchen were an older looking woman who was busy cooking. "now now child clean those pots immediately" the woman spine fiercely when she didn't even look at me. I bowed my head to my superior and quicky changed in the back bathroom. As I rolled up my sleeves to get started a bell rang and the woman cooking leaves the kitchen. I continued washing the dishes. So many questions are running through my mind. As tears welded up in my eyes I hear something. "child speak what's your name?" the rich looking woman stepped into the kitchen. "May ma'am" I bowed my head respectfully. "I see, that will be all" she turned on her heel and angrily stormed out. I continued washing dishes and trying not to cry. As I finished the last pan the older cooking lady looks at me. her eyes are narrowed and her hair was greying in some spots. As I grabbed a broom the woman nodded in approval. I knew how to clean so I didn't want to make any one here mad. 'end flashback' I sit up in my cot I had barely grown out of. My clothes being second handed things. Years of being here at the Harlin Pack house was no walk in the park for me. All my elders and superior co works respected me to a point since I was quiet and never complained about the work that I was assigned everyday. Just a week ago several workers were fired and I took on thier responsibilities on top of my own. When I was finally able to return to my room I nibbled on some scrapes of food left by the packs dinner. "may front and center" Luna called from her living room. Sadly I have to leave my scrapes on my bed I come out of my room coming to the storage closet bedroom my only sanctuary was. The bruises on my arms and legs were still visible even in the maid uniform given to me. Luna Jessica stood holding a belt a glistening leather had been shined. As I bowed my head in respect to the Luna she just snarled at me. My inner wolf whimpered as she pushed pictures into my mind of running away. The Luna glared at me as she lightly tapped the belt against her open palm. I couldn't bare to think about what I did wrong this time. "What is THIS?" Luna Jessica yelled at me. I looked over at the chocolate covered table that clearly spelled my name across it. I looked down knowing it wasn't me but I was in no position to protest because if I had Jessica will only grow more angry. "Mother let me handle her punishment, I'll make sure she doesn't do this again, you rest" Carlos walks forward and placed a hand on his mother's shoulder. Luna Jessica nodded as she left the belt on the couch for Carlos. I trembled not knowing what Carlos was capable of since he was in line to take the place of Alpha. I was also much smaller than Carlos. His height was at least a solid foot taller than me possibly more. Carlos slowly picked up the belt and glanced at me. I trembled slightly as I looked at the floor forbidden to look at Carlos directly. The Alpha temporarily walked through the living room and glanced at me and narrowed his eyes before glancing at Carlos and walked off again. "you know I wouldn't have to do this if you weren't so disobedient to your saviors" Carlos's voice was aggressive and loud. I stood quietly not looking at him. Carlos was then in front of me as he sends a right hook into the right side of my cheek. I was thrown backwards tears stung my eyes but I dared not make a peep in front of Carlos. He jumped on me throwing punches left and right before clawing my face and throat. I cried silently and Carlos felt all this power. Without warning he dragged me to the door out into the snow. Now that I was crying and begging for him to have mercy on me Carlos slapped my face twice. The pain worse since I had three claw marks across my face one wound right over my eye. "Shut up you piece of garbage" He growled just like an Alpha. When he reached his destination Carlos picked me up and threw me into a pond. the ice cracked below me when I tried to move. I cried and asked him to help me and I was sorry. "Please Carlos, I'm sorry" I cried trembling and shivering in the cold. "No" Carlos turned around and left me there and the ice cracked more. I didn't dare move knowing I couldn't swim. My parents hadn't taught me how to properly swim. I cried laying there on the Ice in the freezing snow. My blood slightly pooled into my eyes and mouth. I could taste the iron. I prayed to the moon goddess to send me someone to save me before this family killed me. Finally I make my way to the far side of the pond pulling myself out of the pond and into the snow where my blood transfered but it slightly helped the wounds numbing me. I slowly and painfully make my way back to the pack house entering through the back. Genie the cook had warmed up to me and was like a grandmother to me now. Once she saw me Genie dropped her spoon and almost cried for me. I cried silently and walked over. She keeps me quiet as she cleaned detoxed and wrapped my wounds. She looks at me with a knowing look and sent me to do little things around the kitchen. Genie was happily setting the table when the Alpha informed her that they would be having guests and to bring out the fine ware I watched as Genie nodded and bowed to her Alpha. "See to it that May knows she is serving tonight I can't have the guests upset since they love your cooking" Alpha Daren said as he leaves. Genie walks back into the kitchen and smiled at me. "You heard the Alpha, I'll change your bandages before you start serving and fix your dress when you get into the serving uniform" Genie said as she looked concerned for me. "I'll be ok Genie I promise, can I shower before I begin to serve tonight? I want to look presentable to the guests and not look like I rolled into the mud and dirt" I said as brushed a leaf from my hair. "Of course dear, You'll shower in about thirty minutes" She handed me a pot to wash. I didn't know if Genie felt sorry for me or if she understood what I was going through. I know I was going to have scars now but I didn't have a choice. As I washed all dishes and switched the dining wear I could feel someone watching me. I ignored it to the best of my abilities. After my time was up I slipped into my room to grab my serving outfit. I returned to Genie to take my bandages off. I got into the shower quickly after. My open wounds burning under the water. I didn't have time to think about it. I scrubbed my head and body clean. I even cleaned ans clipped my fingernails. As I got out I used a dark towel since my wounds were still bleeding before I got dressed Genie came in the small bathroom and rewrapped my wounds more professionally so I wouldn't loose a bandage during the dinner. One tightly around my neck and a small patch Over my left eye but I could see just fine. "Thank you miss Genie" I looked at the floor. "No need you remind me of my own daughter just get through tonight" She patted my bare shoulder as she leaves the bathroom. I get dressed and braided my hair back and pinned my baby hairs back. Once satisfied with my look I headed out to the dining room preparing glasses for the incoming family and what I was assuming were the guests. "I see you got yourself a bit clawed up May" Alpha looks at my appearance. "It's nothing Alpha" I bowed my head and continues to fill the glasses. I was suddenly hit with a strong scent of oranges and Vanilla. My inner wolf howled happily as I looked around. there was a younger looking man definitely older than me sitting at the table opposite of Carlos who glared at me. "mother, father we need to discuss something" The boy stood up and glanced at me. "Of course Son anything" His father smiled happily. "my mate is here, I don't know where she is but she close" He eyes me for a moment as I filled up Luna Jessica's glass. "Dear Jake, I don't think your mate is here, most of our staff is older May here is our youngest" She brushed it off clearly not letting me go easily. "I want May now!" He slammed his hand on the table. I jumped as I clung to the pitcher full of wine and lemon. Alpha dismissed me quicky and laughed casually. I returned to tue kitchen quickly and sighed. Genie looks at me and smiled, she must have heard. It was quiet at first but then it got loud. I helped Genie in the kitchen as much as I could. Suddenly the kitchen door slammed open and Luna Jessica was standing there ready to murder anyone. "May, your supposed mate is packing your things and your leaving now" She growled, dragging me by my arm to the front door. I was.silently relived but also terrified I didn't know this man let alone his pack. Soon I see the boy named Jake holding a small bag with all I had ever owned here. Jake looked at me before walking up to me and inhaled through his nose and patted my head. bowing like a gentleman holding out his hand. I take his hand afraid of the consequences if I didn't. Luna Jessica threw a glass in the other room as she screamed at the Alpha. Carlos snarled as he watched Jake gently take me from the house followed by his parents. "i-i M-may" I introduced myself to everyone. "We know darling, I'm glad we found you when we did, I am Luna Syline and this is my husband Alpha Tonto and there your beloved mate is Jake next Alpha of the Clawtin pack" Luna Syline smiling as she placed a hand on my bandages. I felt the healing process I should have when I first got hurt. Jake nodded and took my bandages off snarling and growling at my Scars the ones on my neck more noticable. Alpha Tonto growled and his son dropped it. They must have been communicating with their minds. I looked down as I shivered in the cold. I had forgotten I was barefoot. Jake quicky puts his jacket around me which was obviously to big and scooped me up into his arms. His enticing scent of oranges and Vanilla calmed my inner wolf. "I'm sorry I couldn't find you sooner my love" The first time Jake spoke to me was like heaven. In the car Syline and Tonto insisted I don't have to call them Luna and Alpha like my previous pack had made me and I was no longer in debt to anyone. The first stop on the way was the mall. Jake escorted me to get some new clothes and simple things. "And don't worry about the price princess I have it all covered" He gently holds my hand. I feel like I'm floating right now. But sadly flashbacks of my birthday and Christmas came flooding. I started crying and my mate hugged me tightly. Stroking my head saying it was ok. After four moment I went to get some basic things first like toiletries. Jake watched me but didn't intercept with my choosing of all my products. I even selected a skin care routine I was wanting to do. "That all? because my favorite store has clothes lined up for you to try" He slides his phone away and smiled. "I t-think so, I-i don't use much" I stuttered looking down. Jake understanding paid for the items as he pulled me gently to an designer store. My jaw dropped as I looked around. Inside was a few woman helpers who bowed to Jake as he entered. "Only the best for my princess, and make sure she gets a few evening gowns as well" Jake whispered but I could still hear it. I was taken back to a changing room and my bags are with Jake. The first outfit was a simple pair of jeans and a shirt with some new shoes. I was made to practice in heels and surprisingly I didn't know I could do it so well. The woman who helped me got me weekend outfits a few evening gowns that showed off my curves and decent breasts. I got some boots, a belt, and a few hats, scarves, gloves and a few coats. Once the woman approved the outfits all were bagged except one outfit I chose to go back out into the cold. Not knowing what to choose, I stuck with a pair of black jeans, red tank top, black leather jacket and a pair of leather boot that were not heeled and came up past my ankles a bit. One of the woman styles my hair and even cut it for me. I thanked her cheerfully hoping not to get my head bitten off if I hadn't. I was told that all my clothes and even some summer pieces were going to be shipped tonight so I'll have them by morning. They gave me a bag with some beautiful night clothes. I walked back out to Jake my sandy blonde hair cut and clean along with my sapphire blue eyes glowing. "you look beautiful my love, I promise no one will hurt you ever again" He gently traced my scar across my throat. "I don't want to talk about my past life please if anything I wish to save Genie from the awful place too" I wished my grandmother figure was alright. "Done, my love she will be at our pack house in a day" He kissed my forehead gently. My inner wolf was driving me crazy with the images she put into my head. Was it physically possible for me to even move like that? As Jake takes me to a*****e for women's undergarments I looked at him curiously. "Are you wanting to come in or?" I paused a moment. "no my love surprise me with your taste I'll be waiting here for food and a surprise myself" He kissed my forehead again before sitting on a bench. I walked inside watching the time. I looked through some clothing that I smiled at thinking of Jake's reaction to them. He left me his card so if I finished before him I would have to stand there awkwardly until he returns. after getting a some cute and scandalous night gowns I moved onto some sporty underwear for work outs. I picked three of the same but different colors before moving into lingerie. I wanted to ensure my mate would be impressed with my taste. As I finished up I walked to the counter and the cashier looked at me before shrugging. "cash or card Luna?" she asked as she smiled. "card but I'm not a Luna" I smiled handing her my mates card. "your Jake's mate right? your are to be a Luna then so I'll help you used to the title" She scanned the card and bagged my items. "thank you ma'am I appreciate it" I nodded my head respectfully as I felt the store. Jake was still on the bench this time holding somethings. "my love I got you something" He slides a new phone into my hand. "i-i" I looked at him shocked because it was the newest of phones. "no need to worry my love, it's active and mine and both of my parents numbers are in there for you so you don't need to worry about it" He kissed my cheek this time. "O-ok, I'm done as well, so are we done?" I asked as I looked at him my body suddenly feeling tired. "Yes princes mom and dad have our food in the car" He gently takes my hand as we leave the store. Jake carried all my bags even a special one that I didn't recognize. I thought it was another surprise and shrugged it off. The car ride was silent since the entire car was enjoying steak and fries on the way home. I was well into the evening when we reached the pack Mansion. "Jake my boy, why don't we have a couple guards bring up her things and you take her to bed, she looks exhausted" I hear the Alpha's command before fully falling asleep. Before I know it I'm being moved by a strong pair of arms I recognized. His scent intoxicating to me. Laying me in the bed my shoes and socks were removed along with my jacket and pants. I half opened my eyes to see a maid. I was relieved it wasn't my mate. I must have passed out again. the maid helped me into a night gown and bowed as she puts a tray on the side table next to me. there was water, a cupcake and a note. Quicky reading it my mate Jake would be in bed later tonight since he was dealing with my things and he said he loved me very much. I kissed the note and eat my cupcake as I slowly sipped my water. I laid on my side facing the wall. The king size bed felt enormous for someone as small as me but I was to tired to care. Sleep over takes me and I drifted into a deep peaceful sleep. By morning I felt fully refreshed but something was pinning me into place. I looked under the blanket and see two large arms wrapped around my waist. That's when the smell hits me. It's my lovely mate who saved me from my fate. I stayed in bed longer since I wanted for him to wake up. My mate Jake seemed a little possessive but I didn't know how to handle already having a mate already. my eighteen birthday was tomorrow along with my first shift. As I rolled to Jake he opened his eyes and smiled as he pressed his nose into the bend of my neck inhaling my scent. I laid still now my body relaxed for the first time in years. "I'm going to run my mate a lovely bath, and give her the bed spa care" He kissed my forehead. I smiled happy just like my inner wolf. Jake rolled from the bed and stretched. He wore a pair of sweatpants but no shirt. my inner wolf was driving me crazy. As I sit up and stretch my body feels sore. I rubbed my arms and shoulders. Jake disappears into a master bathroom and I hear the water turn on. That being my cue. I walked over to a closet looking for my clothes. I was surprised to see they were all hanging up or in a drawer. I blushed at the thought that Jake saw my lingerie and other undergarments. I pulled out a white holster top that crossed over breasts. The shirt was also cropped and tight fitting. I picked a no show bra and a nude thong to match the nude no show bra. As I pulled out a black skirt I heard Jake walk up behind me. He wrapped his arms around my waist. "hmm love" He nuzzled my neck and gently but my ear lobe. I smiled as I picked the back skirt and a pair of nude tights. I decided to save the jacket and shoes for last. Jake takes my clothes and folded them before putting them in the bathroom. I walked slowly to the bathroom still waking up and hummed some soft tunes. Jake leaves the bathroom giving me privacy as I soak in the bath. Now my mate is doing something in the room but I could hear voices and objects moving in the room through the bathroom door. I wondered what was going on as I finally finished my bath. I got out drying off and towel dried my hair. After getting dressed and pulling my tights on I reentered the room to see some things had changed a vanity and chair with various makeup, perfumes and nail polish. I tilt my head confused as I walked over to the vanity. A note laying on the clean white table top. I sit down looking in the mirror as I read the note. It was Jake telling me how the vanity and objects on it were gifts along with some wrapped boxes in the huge drawer to my left. I curiously looked in the drawer to find a few boxes wrapped up like he said. Pulling the boxes out of the drawer I opened the smallest one first. I almost gasped when I saw a ipod with headphones. I gleefully set it aside and opened the next one to find an Ipad with a case screen protector and a pen with it. Lastly a MacBook laptop with it already set up and a case with a mouse. I started crying happily as I hugged the gifts. When Jake returned to me he was dressed now as walks over seeing I opened my gifts. He hugged me and wiped my tear stained cheeks. "I have good news, you'll be going to college with me after your birthday and sadly I don't know when it is" He looked down and nuzzled my neck. "December 23" I said softly. "tomorrow? I have to get something put together then" He stood straight up. "No Jake, I shift at midnight I'm probably gonna be to tired and sore to celebrate, why don't we just worry about Christmas" I suggested as I run a hand over his arm. "Your right, this must be overwhelming for you, But my lovely princess Genie has been established with our pack and she has a beautiful guest room, sadly she wishes to spend her days in the kitchen like she had at the other home are you ok with that?" He gently grabbed my hand. "I am Jake, As long as she is safe, happy and comfortable" I smiled as I gently kissed his chin. "Yes my Luna" He leaned his chin on my head and hugged me. Once I had some winter boots and a plain leather jacket Jake introduced me to my trainer who was impressed I was able to fight. Years of watching and practicing unnoticed really helped me. Jake amd I were really getting close now. He took me on dates and gave me a tour of the entire territory. I got dirty looks from the woman of the pack. I'm not sure if it was because I was his mate or if it was my looks. Jake seemed to ignore them well. "Final stop now princess I want you to follow me" He takes my hand and smiled gleefully.
