“Will, scare another one off?” His friends joked as they elbowed his ribcage, “I need you to teach me, I have to change my number every week after my dear mum hands it out.” Gabe slurs out. Will nods and gives a tight-lipped smile. Gabe was not someone William often associated with but his father was a business associate, so Will could tolerate him when needed. He leaned over to his cousin David, “Do you know who she was?” he asked. “The gorgeous burnette in the green dress? No but she’s at that table over there”, David said, pointing across the bar. “And how do you know that?” Will asked with humor, no matter how many times he did it, it always amazed him how observant David was. “Look at who she's with, I could eat that blonde morning, noon and night.” David laughed clapping Wills shoulder. “Hmmm” was all he replied and the conversation in the group continued he did little to include himself and found himself watching the restroom waiting for his mystery girl to reemerge.
Charlotte did not disappoint. After leaving the restroom she was having a problem getting the dress to zip all the way on the side. As she emerged, Will was taking calculated strides to meet her. Not sure what he would say, but then Char breezed right by him without a second glance. Will smirked to himself, he was considered the most eligible bachelor in London at the time. The prince now married, he was the best looking and most successful Lord of their time, handling numerous publishing companies around the world among other family businesses. Girls were throwing themselves at him left and right, some even claiming to be the mother of his children. He would just scoff to himself, he had never put himself in a position for that to be an option, he was’t even sure he wanted children he was only 25. He was sure he wanted this woman's undivided attention and all of the others prying eyes off of her exposed body. He walked up behind her and placed his hand on the small of her back, her skin felt cool, a complete contrast to his normal body tempeture and in that moment he thought she was made of porcelain as he rubbed small circles on her smooth skin. In his world this was a chivalrous gesture and he was letting the rest of the club know he was laying claim to her. He leaned down and whispered in Charlotte’s ear, “I am very sorry, I was going to ask for your name, but I noticed your dress is unzipped, may I help?” Quite proud of his quick thinking, he was shocked at her response. Women usually melted under his touch. Charlotte had just gone to walk away, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his chest.
As Charlotte stepped out of the hall back into the club, she noticed the arrogant ass walking back towards her. She scoffed “I’m here with the girls and these men are not my type!” She walked right by him not sparing a second glance, she needed to get back to Nancy so she could help with this dang zipper! As she walked away she smelled an intoxicating scent of leather and brandy, it reminded her of her grandfather’s library, then she felt a warm broad hand spread across her lower back. She had been raised as enough of a lady as to not make a scene, but could not believe this man's audacity to touch her that intimately. She felt him rubbing small circles on her back and while his touch was soothing and sent chills through her body mixed with his scent, she was brought back to the present when he whispered in her ear asking for her name. “Char…” she had started to reply when she heard the rest. She had picked up her pace walking away from him and they were on the edge of the dance floor now. She was suddenly whirled around crashing into his chest, looking up at him. “Excuse me, who do you think you are? Get your hands off of me, you are not my boyfriend and have no right to touch me.” She whisper yelled through gritted teeth, pointing her finger at his chest. Will calmly grabbed her exposed waist, nearly being able to wrap his hand around her small figure, and pulled her other hand into his chest, stepping back onto the dance floor with her. Panic ensued in Charlotte She was not a dancer, she was the designated purse/table watcher. Feeling her tense, Will pulled her closer yet again, leaning down to whisper in her ear, “My name is William, my friends call me Will, now relax I won’t let you fall.” His baritone voice soothed her panic but did little for her rage. Charlotte could feel all the muscles in this man's broad chest as he moved her effortlessly across the floor. “Well William,” she emphasized, not using his nickname as they were not friends, “I will say to you again, get your hands off of me, you are not my boyfriend.” He chuckled and smiled a crooked smile down at her, winking he released her and turned to go back to his friends. Charlotte turned around to head back to their table only to meet the shocked faces of her friends. “EEEKKKK TELL US NOW!!! I think I need the bathroom too if you found that in there!” The girls exclaimed. Charlotte scoffed, “Nancy I can’t fix this dang zipper.” “Oh I got it, uh Char how many drinks have you had it is zipped?” Nancy and Becca laughed to themselves. “What, how?” Charlotte looked around catching William's eyes, he simply smirked and winked before turning back to his friends. How he had managed to zip her dress while guiding her along the dance floor Charlotte would never know. After a few more rounds and photos and all the dancing done by Nancy and Becca, the girls were finally ready to call it a night.
