The two pups were now six months old. A couple of friends were visiting from England for two weeks over Easter. The wife, Gina, was a horse person, so I seized this opportunity for help backing my three-year-old horse. She and I had done a great job during the past week, and my horse was calmly getting used to carrying a rider. At midday on Easter Sunday, we were about to sit down and enjoy a well-deserved roast pork and potatoes with all the trimmings.
