Lily didn't go back to the office after seeing her sister, instead she told the chauffeur to drive straight home.
She was disoriented and it was obvious, which made her angrier.
She had so many questions, but the one that rang most in her head was who let the secret out, it looked like Ava knew everything, it couldn't just be a coincidence, there was a mole. But only very few people knew about this, herself the staff that helped her drug her sister's drink and…..and Damon’s secretary, James.
When she was successful with the drugging and all her plans fell into their places, she made sure she silenced everyone that knew. She tracked down the secretary and had her killed, which was not that much of a hassle for her, that leaves her and James.
James has been her husband trusted secretary for years, and he could have revealed this earlier, he has so many opportunities, but he didn't, he didn't have a gain in it, and she threatened him with his girlfriend, even then she couldn't be so sure of him, it isn't a coincidence that James went to the states for business and Ava returned almost immediately, either that or there was another person that knew and she hadn't gotten rid of.
More so, she wasn't sure if Ava kept the pregnancy, that sneaky b***h might have the heir of the Blackwoods industry tucked away somewhere, and what's worse was that she couldn't seem to get Damon to sleep with her, this could be a big threat to her position.
Her thoughts were driving her insane and she didn't even notice when they got to their mansion.
“Madam”
A subtle voice was heard as a knock came on the tinted window making her snap out of her imagination. Looking around she composed herself before coming out of the sports car. An icy look on her face as it showed obvious irritation.
Strolling into the mansion the maids tried to stay hidden and silent as possible. Third madam always has a rotten temper, but seeing the icy look on her face, they knew that a storm was brewing and none of them wanted to get stuck in the rain.
The house keeper braced herself as she slowly approached the madam with a forced and shaky smile on her face.
“You're back madam”
She said as she helped her take the coat off her back. Lily didn't answer her, instead looking lost in her thoughts, when her coat was taken off she began to walk straight to the giant staircase leading to her room.
The house keeper struggled internally as she debated whether or not she should ask her if she should tell the cooks to get the lunch ready, at last she breathed out a prayer full sigh as she struggled to reach the Madam
“Should we get your lunch ready madam”
She said as Lily came to a halt making the housekeeper shrink in fear
Lily hadn't had breakfast because of her worries of meeting her sister, and she had skipped lunch too, if she kept on going like this, she would get sick, and to handle her sister she needed to be in the best of health.
“Yes”
The simple answer shocked the house keeper who was expecting a yell or no reply at all
“Right away ma’am”
She said as she gave a small bow and ran to the kitchen wing.
Ava sat in her office chair as she swirled around in pure anger, she didn't have any feelings left for her sister or her ex husband, but even if she did, it was all dead now, her heart was cold and stale towards them and she was more determined than ever to get her revenge. They were going to be sorry they ever messed with her
Her private phone rang as she immediately glanced at it, not everyone had access to her private phone, so she could almost guess who was calling
“Hello mummy angels”
She said as her cold tone immediately disappeared into thin air and warmth flowed through the line
Charlie squealed in happiness as soon as she heard her mother's voice through the line
Hearing the happy giggle of her little girl, her heart overflowed with joy, Damon might have given her trauma, pain, resentment and all the voices she could think of, but he couldn't deny that he was the reason why her angels existed today. Charlie was much like her, radiant, joyful and a bundle of sunshine, but Charles was much quiet, mostly kept to himself, and had an annoyingly amount of intelligence for a 5 year old, but he was stunning and has a striking resemblance to his father. They were the sole opposite of each other, never had she seen twins this different.
“How are my bundle of joy doing today”
She asked as Charlie tried to make out words about how she ate cookies and played in the swing while trying to perfect her drawing, she also rambled about how Charles tried teaching her how to play simple keys in the piano , while Ava's face showed nothing but joy
“Aunt Irene baked cookies for us”
Charlie said in one breath as Irene giggled through the line
“What's a best friend to do, how's New York Ava”
She said through the phone
“New York is fine Irene, thank you for taking care of the kids”
Irene was her childhood friend and had followed her abroad, being the only one who knew about the pregnancy, she stuck with Ava as she went through all that leaving her father's company in the hands of her brother and taking care of the kids. After staying with Ava till the kids could walk and talk, she returned back to New York to check on her father's company, that was in good hands with her brother, she occasionally visits them abroad as she gives Ava recent news of the Blackwoods, she was the real definition of spoilt heiress.
“How are you Charles?”
Ava asked as Irene handed Charles the phone
“I'm fine mum, how are you?”
Charles was more mature intellectually for his age, so Ava didn't have to worry much about him, but she couldn't help it sometimes, he knew he acts mature to help her take care of Charlie, but he was still too young to take up that kind of responsibility
