Clare's pov
I woke up to find myself in an unfamiliar room with a needle pierced into my hand. It looks more like a hospital than the basement I remember staying in. My mum barged into the room before I got a chance to sit up on the bed.
'Honey, you are awake' said my mum with a look of relief
'Yes mum, what happened to me'
'You lost consciousness dear but I got you here on time'
'Oh, thanks mum'
'I got you some fruits to eat'
My mum passed me an apple to eat while she looked at me weakly munching it.
'I'm sorry for leaving you mum'
'No honey, I'm sorry I couldn't help you out when you needed me the most. I understand that I'm a terrible mother who can't even protect her child and I am very sorry for that Clare. I wish I could help you out but I'm helpless. Please forgive me my child' said my mum with tears rolling down her cheeks.
'Please don't cry mum. It's not your fault'
'No dear, it's my fault'
I have never seen my mum so sad in her life and at that point I just knew that I couldn't make her more sad. I was selfish to leave her alone.
'Forgive me mum'
My mum and I spent two hours in tears. No words exchanged, just tears and hugs because only the both of us knew what we were passing through.
