Loved by chance

Chapter 7

'Clare, where are you?' asked aunt Helen as soon as I answer her call

'I am almost home aunty. I'm walking down the street now, I will be back in ten minutes'

'Come back soon Clare and stay safe'

'Yes aunty',I replied before she drops the call.

We worked till late today because we had too many customers and we couldn't close without them all leaving. My day was so stressful. I drag my feet throughout my walk down the street till I feel some chills run down my spine. It feels like someone is following me. I try to hasten my steps without turning back to try avoid whoever is following me. I slightly look back and saw absolutely no one. I still hasten my steps so the person could loose track of me as my gut feelings are usually never in vane. I walked past my street into the next one. I enter a bar to spend some time there hoping that the person looses track of me. I can't lie about being scared because I'm really frightened but I know I can handle this.

'What would you like to have' asked the bartender

'A virgin mojito would be okay'

I'm sipping on my drink when a guy suddenly came to join me on a sit close to me.

'What's up beautiful, you look like you could use some company' said the man

He seems like someone in his early forties or so and he seemed quite drunk.

'I don't need any company sir, thanks'

'Playing hard to get right' he said trying to touch my face

'Let go of my face sir'

'Why exactly should I do that beautiful. I know you want me and I want you too'

'Let go of me!!' I yelled as I forcefully pushed his hands off me.

'I will deal with you for disrespecting me' said the man as he charged at me. I cover my face with my hands reflexively when I suddenly heard a loud bang. I look up to see a young man in black beating the man who tried hitting me. The man in black kept begging for mercy as blood was already dripping from his mouth.

'Please let go of me, I won't do it again' pleaded the man one last time right before he lost consciousness.

The man in black speedily left before I got chance to thank him.
