“What’s wrong with him? Doesn’t he see that I’m trying hard to avoid him?” I uttered while running to the kitchen.
“Scarlett Snow, what is wrong with you? Why are you running? Is there an emergency or something scary in your room?” My mother asked, laughing at my appearance.
“Kurt says I need to hurry, so I ran as much as possible,” I responded, laughing. But deep down, my heart is still pounding because of my conversation with Jacob.
“Yeah, I need you to prepare the table for your brother and Marga. I received a call from the council. There’s an immediate meeting, so I have to leave,” my mother explained while removing her apron.
“Why? Is there a problem?” I worriedly asked while following my mother’s every movement.
“I don’t know yet, but the council received a call from the Blue Moon Alpha,” my mother remarks and sighs.
I froze as my eyes widened in shock. I could not speak, but my appearance was enough to stop my mother from leaving.
“Hmm, Scarlett, you’re acting weird ... Looking at you now, I can clearly see that you know the reason for the council meeting,” my mother commented as she walked beside me.
The guilt reflected on my face, although we were not to blame for what happened at the airport. I’m concerned because the council will blame my mother if the Blue Moon pack gets angry.
“Scarlett Snow, speak up ...” my other worriedly asked.
“I’m sorry, mom, earlier when I was waiting for Jacob at the airport, the alpha of the Blue Moon pack approached me. He asked me to join him for a coffee, but I refused...” I stopped for a moment and looked at my mother, “But that alpha gets agitated. He cursed our pack and grabbed me ... then Jacob saw that scene, so he knocks out the Blue Moon alpha.” as soon as I finished my story, I hold my mother’s hand and gave her an apologetic smile.
My mother looked at me furiously as she hugged me and said, “I’m so glad you’re not hurt,” she murmured and rubbed my back before letting me go.
“I’m sorry for causing you trouble again,” I apologized. Since I was young, I have often had trouble with things that I didn’t really want, and the reason was my beauty. So sometimes, I get the thought that a curse is a reason for my exceptional appearance.
“It’s not you who should be sorry. The alpha of the Blue Moon pack should beg us to forgive him!” my mother exclaimed while getting her phone and making a call.
In just a few seconds, my mother was talking on the phone. And hearing her words, I smiled. I admire my mother so much. Becoming a Luna is so hard, much more in my mother’s situation. She took over the obligation to Jacob for him to grow and become ready to be a true alpha. But my smile wipes away hearing my name mentioned and the incident at the airport.
“Mom, the council will be furious! How can you revoke their order to summon me?” I exclaimed as my whole body grew cold with nervousness.
“I’m the Luna of the Emerald pack, so you shouldn’t be afraid. And one more thing, you’re not required to answer the council call because you’re not yet a member of the pack,” my mother remarks, and takes the apron from me again.
“Should I be glad I’m not a member of the Emerald pack yet?” I answered with a snout. This is another one of my worries. I introduced myself as a member of the Emerald pack, but my mother hasn’t officially accepted me, and I don’t know why.
“Everyone in the pack will swear allegiance to Jacob to make the bond strong. That’s why the former members have to repeat the process they went through,” my mother reasoned, but I still have doubts.
“My guts are telling me that the real reason is my mate… He is not a member of the Emerald pack, so you are preventing me from being a full member,” I responded while raising my eyebrow.
“Ha Ha Ha, that’s the main reason,” my mother laughs as we continue the cooking.
When we finished preparing dinner, my mother instructed me to call Jacob and Marga. I look for my little brother at times like this, but to my dismay, Kurt is nowhere to be found, so I step into the stairway with a heavy feeling.
“I will ask Marga to call Jacob, so I don’t have to go to his room,” I whispered to myself before knocking on the door.
But my feeling got heavier after a few minutes, a lot of knocking ... no one opened the door for me.
“Marga? Are you there?” I raised my voice, thinking that Marga might be in the bathroom. But I still got nothing, so I went to Jacob’s room.
While approaching the door of Jacob’s room, I once again felt my heart beating fast.
(Scarlett Snow, calm yourself! Remember, you have a strong heart, so the bond between mates does not affect you!) I remind myself over and over until I stop in front of the door.
I took a deep breath before knocking three times…
[giggles and whispers]
I couldn’t help but raise my eyebrows when I heard giggles and whispers inside Jacob’s room. I can’t be wrong; it’s a woman!
“So, even if I knock on Marga’s door for an hour, no one will answer because she is here in Jacob’s room?!” I murmured and intensified the knock on the door. I don’t know, but I can’t help but be annoyed to think there’s a woman with Jacob in his room. I couldn’t stop the explicit images from entering my mind.
“Jacob! Open the door you-“
My sentence stopped in half while my fist stopped pounding on the door when it suddenly opened, and Jacob faced me with a frown.
“Scarlett Snow, do you want to break down my door?” Jacob utters, sneering as he crosses his arm on his bare chest.
“You! What are you doing?! How could you-“
“Hey, what’s wrong? Is there a problem?”
I couldn’t continue what I was going to say when Marga spoke.
“Perhaps Snow has gone crazy.”
