Kai Ren sat on the rooftop of his cramped apartment building, gazing out at the neon-lit sprawl of Neo-Tokyo City. The night sky was disturbed by a glowing sphere—The Core—hovering above Earth. Suddenly, a flicker of light crossed Kai's vision, and a translucent interface appeared before him:
