CHAPTER 10
“So you were ordered to fight to the death? Would you… would you have really killed him?”
Dani asked, after Cantal got through talking about how he and Cory became such close friends.
Nodding, Cantal finished chewing his sandwich, then replied, “Of course. My Rei gave me a direct order.”
“And because Jotham says kill, you would just do it without question?” Marshal asked in shock, setting his half eaten food back on his plate.
Cory sighed, saying, “I didn’t get it either, guys. I got so pissed, I damn near gave up my mate over the barbaric crap. The thing is, I kind of understand now. Jotham needed to know if Cantal was like his brother. The man did try and rape then kill Billy. Joth also needed to know that Cantal would do whatever he had to do in order to keep me safe.”
