"Abigail!" I yell and immediately she is in front of me, checking me over and making sure I'm okay.
"He didn't hurt you did he?" I wave her hands away from my face as she stops fluttering around me and lands back on the ground, grabbing my hand in hers.
"Repeat what you just told me." I order him and he turns to look at Abigail who is currently grilling him.
"The First time I tasted her blood it was barely any but it seemed off to me. In the club when I had her again I was able to drink more from her, then it hit me. She Tastes just like a witch but witches should have their powers by now."
"So you're telling me that she isn't even human?"
"Hello, I'm right here you know." I huffed at them as they turned to me and offered me a sheepish smile. My heart was going a mile a minute and I saw Damien tilt his head to the side as if listening.
His eyes met mine and I saw worry in those beautiful eyes, he reached out to me and pulled me into his embrace.
"Its Okay, its all going to be okay." He cooed to me as he stroked the top of my head. I buried my face into his chest and took a deep breath, he smelled of cinnamon and sugar with a mix of dark chocolate.
I kept inhaling deep breaths of his scent and I felt the rumble of his laughter, my heart rate had decreased and was beating normally but I didn't want to let go of him.
"That's the bond, Little Alice." His voice was deep and gravely, a warmth spread from my heart and through my body. Looking up at him I could see his eyes were swapping between their colors, a realization hit me.
"So I need to unlock my powers? How do we do that?" I stepped out of his embrace, face flushed red as I brushed my clothes a bit trying to compose myself.
"What about your parents?" Damien questioned as a look was shared between Abigail and I.
"Her parents aren't around anymore, they died 5 years ago." Abigail spoke as she kept eye contact with me, knowing that I wasn't going to share too much about their death. They were both doctors who traveled and were on call.
One evening they received a call about one of their patients, they had an episode while cooking and spilled everything everywhere. The smoke alarm was what woke them from their stir, they called 911 but the firetrucks were too far out so the called my parents. By the time they got there, their house was filled with smoke.
My dad tried to keep mom out but they were both dedicated to saving their patients lives so they went in. They never came back out, the house was on fire by the time the firetrucks arrived and I showed up on scene since I didn't hear anything from my parents. They died in that fire trying to save their patient, but the weirdest part; They only pulled my parents out of the building, their patient was no where to be seen and it was as if all traces of them were gone.
I tried to talk to the police and firefighters but they had no clue what I was talking about. I called Abigail over to the scene and there was nothing there, she even knew that my parents talked about this patient yet when she tried it was the same.
They chalked it up to an accidental fire and they were poor civilians who went in to help but no one was home. We doubt that and ever since we have been trying to figure out the real cause of my Parents death.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Well what about one of the other Realms?" He looked at Abigail who seemed to ponder his words and then her expression lit up as her eyes met mine.
"We could visit my parents!" She said gleefully as she grabbed my hands.
"We have an extensive collection of books in the palace library, I'm sure we could go and look for something that could help us!"
"Did you say Realms?" I pointed at Damien then turned and pointed at Abigail.
"And did you say palace?"
"Yes silly, I told you, I'm the Fae Princess! Now that everything is all out and in the open I can take you to meet my parents! Oh they will be so excited to finally meet you!"
"When should we leave?" Damien asked and she looked confused by his question.
"What do you mean we? Alice and I will go together and you can go off and do whatever you blood suckers do."
"Abigail!" I smacked her arm as I stepped away towards Damien, evident hurt in her eyes by the action.
"If what you told me is true, then Mates are everything and if you get to have one then so do I." I looked up at Damien and I saw a slight sparkle in his eye as he stared down at me lovingly.
I turned my attention back on Abigail and I see her battle with herself before she sighs and rubs her head.
"You are absolutely right, I will try my best with this. In my world Vampires aren't well liked but he is your Mate and I know exactly how far Mates will go for each other." She looks back at me and a warm smile plays on her lips, as if she's remembering a fond memory.
"One chance! Until you have decided to Mate and Mark each other he has one chance, or I'll personally kick his ass!" She floats off the ground meeting him at eye level to get her point across.
"Easy there princess, I have been around for many centuries and have waited too long for my Mate." His hands go up as he flashes her a dazzling smile, she floats back down and crosses her arms in a huff.
"Okay I have a few questions!" I squeak between the two as they look at me, their heads tilted quizzically.
"I know what Mates are, but what is Mate and Mark? You didn't say anything like that to me about you and Darrell!" I asked her specifically and I hear Damien surpress a laugh beside me. Abigail looks over at him and then back to me, her face starting to redden.
"Well you see Alice, its pretty much s*x and then depending on the species they each have their own way to "mark" each other as theirs. Vampires, well.."
"We bite." I hear Damien next to my ear as his warm breath freezes my body.
"Right here." He nipped my neck where my shoulder meets and a wave of euphoric pleasure rushes through my body as my legs tremble.
His arm wraps around my waist holding me against him and I could feel his hardness pressed against me. A slight moan escapes me when I'm started by a cough.
"Hey do you wanna maybe not do that in front of me? You're my best friend but I do not need to see or hear that!" I jumped away from Damien, my face beet red as he plasted a mega watt smile on his face. I felt Abigail put her arm around me and start pulling me back the way we came.
"We are going to go back to her apartment and grab some clothes, when we get back to mine she will text you my address. We will leave from there!" Abigail called to him as well made our way back to her little bug and got in the car. The drive back to my place was quiet as I thought about everything I have gone through.
I am a witch, whose best friend is actually a fairy princess and now I'm mated to a Vampire!
I went from wishing and praying that the supernatural exist to not out being surrounded by them, but I'm also one of them! The drive back was much quicker as she parked in front of the building and putting it in park.
"Run up and grab enough clothes for a week, time runs much differently in my world than here!"
"Alright I'll be quick!" Sliding out of the car I grabbed my little bag and entered the building, taking the elevator to the 9th floor I unlocked and entered my apartment only to let out a little scream. There sitting in my living room was Damien, just as he was before we left.
"What are you doing in here? I don't need to ask how obviously." I said as I pointed to my open bedroom door. He just grinned at me as he stood and stalked over to me.
"I just wanted to see you, and maybe have a chat before leaving." I eyed him curiously as he quickly swept me off my feet earning a little squeal from me as he was quickly sitting on the couch with me in his lap. My stomach was in knots, he ran his fingers through my hair and nuzzled my head.
"Its nothing bad, I want to talk about us. I know that right now there is alot going through your mind, and I don't need to listen in to know that." I let out a deep sigh as I nestled into his lap more and looked up into his Hazel eyes.
"I will wait for you to tell me you want my mark. It will be hard but I can control myself for you." I felt my heart flutter at his words as I adjusted myself in his lap so i was straddling him.
"And what about the Mate part? I'm no virgin." I tell him coyly as I run my hands through his hair and lean in, just before our lips could touch. His eyes flashed red before he closed the space between us and captured my lips with his.
His tongue grazed my bottom lip as I opened for him, our tongues fighting for dominance. I gently ran my tongue on his fangs, enough to make me bleed as I ground myself into his ever prominent hard on. A deep growl vibrated from his chest as he pulled away from me and licked his lips.
"You minx, Little Alice." I reach forward to undo his pants but his hands stopped me, curiously I looked up at him and could see him fighting for control.
"As much as I'd love to finish this, Abigail is waiting." I huffed in annoyance as I got off his lap and headed to the bedroom grabbing my large backpack and stuffing a bunch of clothes into it. I turned and found Damien leaning against the door frame eyeing me with a hungry look.
"Though when we get there," he was gone in a blink until I felt him behind me, pressing me into my wall and pinning my hands behind me; one hand on my neck.
"We will finish this." He breathed as I felt his tongue lick his way up my neck to the shell of my ear, then just like that; he was gone.
