Only the Beginning
Do you remember when you were younger the scary stories and chain letters telling stories about a child named Carmen Winstead? She was pushed down the manhole but the girls say she fell, so you'll hear her through the sewers and in your drains? Or what about that video that you watch and if you believe hard enough and whisper your name, a vampire will come in the middle of the night and turn you?
The stories of supernatural creatures like zombies, witches, fae and werewolves? Or just the small hope in your body that something out there exists in this dull world, something you have yet to find but yearn for? What if I were to tell you that deep in your mind, that one thought you had... was true?
Would the young version of you feel just as excited as the adult you does now? My name is Alice Nocture and since I was a little girl i had always believed in the supernatural, deciding what i wanted to be and what my dream man would look like as he came to take me away to our new lives.
Would it be A vampire in the middle of the night, following me home from the shadows? Stumbling across A werewolf pack and finding my mate, the alpha, or befriending the fae one day on my walk. I believed with my whole heart that one day, maybe i would be special enough to catch the eye of something magical. Even when i turned 24 i still held that piece in my heart.
I thought that the day i was deemed worthy enough i would be calm and collected and would enter their world gracefully. That did not happen. All i managed to do was open my mouth, stare and faint. What a graceful entrance. I was at home getting ready for a party that night, dressed up in my sun and moon black dress, fishnets with gems, and black heels. My black hair falling in waves down my back, as i finished up the touches of my makeup, my smokey eyes allowed my bright blue eyes to pop.
My skin was silky smooth from the new moisturizer i had applied, making my tan skin shine. Leaning into the mirror, I toussled my hair, trying to give it more volume, when in the reflection i noticed my window opening slowly, a dark figure stepping across the sill into the bedroom. Turning slowly, I met with a pair of deep red eyes. I felt a shiver run down my spine directly into my core. He was tall, towering over my 5'2" frame, even in these heels.
My gaze ran up his long legs in grey jeans, muscular torso hidden under a fitted black T-shirt, slightly ruffled dark brown hair and gorgeous kiss me lips which turned up into a smile showing off his sharp pointy teeth. Wait, sharp teeth? Also who is this man and how did he get into my apartment. I live on the 9th floor?!
