My Answer

My hands are shaking, and my eyes are watery.

"Yes Kyle. I will marry you" I say smiling as he slips the ring on my finger.

Kyle stands up and hugs me long and tightly. "I love you so much baby" He whispers in my ear

"I love you too Kyle" I say softly, still shocked by what just happened.

I can't believe it. Finally, everything seems to be getting better. My dads gone, I have my mate, a totally new life. No abuse or name calling every day when I come home, just love and a bunch of people caring for me.

Kyle and I sit down again and I decide to talk to him about some things I'm curious about.

I play with the new ring on my finger until finally I speak up. "So Kyle babe.. Can I ask you something?"

He looks at me and nods his head. I just want to know why he chose to put up with me. I was so much work.

"Why and how did you do it?" I ask quietly.

"Do what?" He asks furrowing his eyebrows together.

I take a shaky breath. What if I mess everything up? I mean he is my mate after all. But I just feel bad he went through so much work just to even get me to talk, let alone mate with me and everything else.

"Why did you want me so bad?" I ask him scared of his response "Like I was so much work for you"

He sighs. f**k ..

"Beth baby. I wanted you so bad because you are everything I've always wanted. You are my mate. Your my life and without you I wouldn't be were I am today." He says grabbing my hands, looking me in the eyes and smiling. "You gave me a reason to fight and to smile. I loved helping you come out of your shell and be yourself. I love seeing you actually smile and laugh. And how you no longer cower in fear of being hit or screamed at"

My eyes begin to water. Oh my god.. he's amazing.

"We have been through so much together and to loose you were certainly be the end of me. I love you and I will never change my mind"

I go to say something back to him but instead he kisses me, and I kiss him back. He puts his hands on my sides and holds me in his arms, then he pulls away and puts his forehead on mine and looks me straight in the eyes.

"Im so happy your my mate and fiancé and I am so excited to make you my wife and someday the mother to our children"

"I can't wait either" I whisper then yawn.

By now the sun has gone down, and it's dark outside. "Let's go home and sleep sweetheart" He says and I nod my head smiling.
