Cast a Spell

All the girls were buzzing around Ethan like bees, hoping to catch his attention. But Ethan was least interested in them, his eyes were fixated on the door from which Jess left. With each passing second he was growing impatient but there was a sense of excitement with it.

It was a all together different feeling for him, something new, something he had never experienced I his life. He was annoyed and excited at the same time.

"Hello Mr. Parks I'm Rebecca Meyers. I'm sure you know my dad Stephen Meyers. He's signed a lot of deals with your company over the past few years" a girl in short dress and heavy make-up introduces herself, only to be royally ignored by Ethan.

Rebecca is the daughter of a elite businessman Stephen Meyers. She thinks herself to be the diva of the University and always wants to be in lime light. She hated Jess from the core of her heart for stealing all the attention and being everyone's favourite without any effort. No matter how hard Rebecca tried she couldn't charm anyone like Jess does.

"Hmm, I see that your waiting for Jessica all alone here. I think she might take a little more while, till then why don't you join me? I assure your going to like my company a lot" Rebecca said batting her lashes and tugging on to Ethan's arms trying to seduce him.

She wanted to spend some time with Ethan inorder to woo him with her charms. Like every other girl Rebecca too had hots for Ethan. If she would manage to impress him her life would be set. She could get everything she's ever dreamed of.

"No" Ethan said harshly with blank face while j*********f her hand.

Had it been before Ethan might have contemplated whether or not to go with Rebecca. Now the scenario was different, he didn't want anyone other than Jess.

Jess had all his attention and no matter any number of hot chicks in mini skirts had walked past him, it didn't flatter him. She had occupied his mind completely leaving no place for him to think about anyone else.

Dejected by his blunt refusal Rebecca was utterly embarrassed, she just awkwardly stood there still hoping to have a chance to converse with Ethan.

"Hmm Mr. Parks... " just when she was starting to speak about something, a smile made way to Ethan's face.

Rebecca was surprised by the sudden change in his expressions. She followed the direction in which he was looking to see Jessica walking towards them dressed up in a blue denim trousers and red floral crop top paired with a black snickers and her hair tied in a ponytail with few strands let loose to fall on the side of her face. With no make-up she still managed to look elegant and beautiful.

She was dressed in a casual outfit but that made her look dapper. Rebecca was burning in anger seeing Ethan staring at Jess without blinking. She stamped her foot and walked away.

"Why did Rebecca leave like that? Did you say something inappropriate? She looked angry" Jess questions being confused seeing Rebecca leave all of a sudden when she approached them.

"You look stunning" Ethan said still lost in her.

Jess was uncomfortable with his constant gaze on her. "

Umm thank you. But you didn't answer me" she spoke still awkward.

Ethan did not respond for a while, it seemed like someone had Cast a Spell on him.

Jess snapped her fingers infront of his face "Are you alright Mr. Parks?".

"Yeah, I think we should to go to the fest area now" Ethan replied unaware of all things Jess's spoken till now.

"I asked you....." Jess trailed off not wanting to prolong her time with him by indulging him in unwanted talks "Nevermind, what would you like to start with games, food, shopping" she said raising an eyebrow

"You wanted to ask me something?" Ethan said wanting to know what was running in her mind.

"Nothing important Mr. Parks. Could we please concentrate on the fest" Jess said shrugging her shoulders.

"Ya sure", Ethan said excited.

"Where would you want to go first. Hmm... are you hungry?", Jess asked wriggling her eyebrows.

"Sure", Ethan says while nodding his head.

"Great then! We have yummy foods available in the stalls here. You should surely give it a try. Let's go" Jess chirped all excited.

Spirits fest is one of the most awaited and grand event of the University. There would always be numerous stall of various items installed in the vast stadium of the University. It would include games, food, handicrafts and other stuffs planned and executed by a bunch of students and staff for an entire day of fun. The funds raised from the fest would be donated for social welfare causes.

Ethan was a surprised by the sudden change of Jess's mood. She was grumpy a little while ago but now she was all excited like a little child who's been given her favourite candy.

Jess at the corner of her eyes sees Ivan standing alone "Mr. Parks why is your assistant standing there all alone. Call him as well to join us, it'll be fun"

Not wanting to defy the very first thing Jess has asked him, Ethan gestures at Ivan to come

"Yes Mr. Parks. Is there any problem?" Ivan queried.

Before Ethan could say something Jess hoped in "Why? Are you supposed to be called only when there's a problem"

"Nothing like that. I was just..." Ivan was cut off in the middle by Jess "Hey, it's alright. You don't have to be all worked up. Mr. Parks just called you to join us"

Ivan was about to decline, "Please don't say no. It would be really fun, I promise" Jess said with her famous puppy eyes.

Having no other option Ivan surrendered to her demand.

"Wow, thanks a lot. By the way I'm Jessica Adams" she said forwarding her hands with a smile.

"Hi, I'm Ivan" he said reciprocating her gesture.

"Nice meeting you Ivan" Jess said taking her hand back.

"Same here Jessica" Ivan replied with a smile.

"Enough of this. I think we should get going" Ethan snapped in between.

He was hell irritated with Jessica's friendly behaviour with Ivan. They started moving towards the stadium with Ethan beside Jess and Ivan on Ethan's other side.

"She's so formal with me. She addressed Ivan by his first name but me... Mr. Parks. Does she find Ivan good looking" Ethan thinks to himself.

He looks at Ivan "Huh, there's no way he's a match to me. I'm better than Ivan in every manner. He hasn't got no chance against me. I should stop thinking about all this and just enjoy my time with Jessica" Ethan self praises himself calming his irritation down.
