fallen princess: the price of trust
Chapter 1 The beginning Michael and Evelyn Avery had been married for nearly ten years, but their home remained painfully silent. Despite countless hospital visits, medical treatments, and prayers, they were unable to have children. The disappointment weighed heavily on them, yet they never lost hope that one day they would become parents. After years of waiting, their prayers were finally answered. Evelyn became pregnant with twins—a baby boy and a baby girl. Overjoyed, the couple eagerly prepared for the arrival of their children, believing their family was finally complete. However, tragedy struck on the day of the birth. Their son passed away shortly after entering the world, leaving Michael and Evelyn heartbroken. Amid their grief, they found comfort in their daughter, Sarah, who survived and became the light of their lives. Determined to cherish every moment with her, they poured all their love, attention, and affection into Sarah. She grew up surrounded by warmth and care, never doubting how deeply she was loved. To her parents, Sarah was more than a daughter she was a miracle, a blessing they had waited ten long years to receive. They gave her everything they could, ensuring she had the best education, the finest opportunities, and a life filled with happiness. As the only child of the Avery family, Sarah became their pride, their joy, and the center of their world. Chapter 2 The University Princess Years passed, and Sarah Avery blossomed into a stunning young woman. Raised in love and luxury, she carried herself with elegance and confidence wherever she went. As the only daughter of the wealthy Avery family, she had never lacked anything. The night before she was due to begin university, Michael Avery called Sarah outside the family mansion. "Sarah, I have something for you," he said with a smile. Curious, Sarah followed him into the driveway. Her eyes widened in shock when she saw a brand-new pink Range Rover parked in front of the house, decorated with a giant ribbon. "Dad!" she gasped. "Congratulations on starting university, Princess," Michael said proudly as he handed her the keys. Sarah threw her arms around him. "Thank you so much, Dad! I love it!" "You deserve it," he replied, kissing her forehead. "My princess should have nothing but the best." That night, Sarah could hardly sleep. She was excited to begin a new chapter of her life. The following morning, she arrived at the university in her new Range Rover. The moment she stepped out of the vehicle, heads turned in her direction. She was breathtakingly beautiful. Dressed in a simple but expensive outfit, Sarah carried herself with natural grace and confidence. Students whispered among themselves as they watched her walk across the campus. "Who is she?" "She's gorgeous." "She looks like a celebrity." Sarah ignored the attention. She had grown accustomed to people staring at her. When she entered her classroom, conversations immediately died down. Almost every student turned to look at her. Among them was a handsome young man sitting near the middle row. Seeing an empty seat beside him, he quickly stood up. "Hey," he said with a friendly smile. "You can sit here." Sarah glanced at him briefly before taking the seat. The young man extended his hand. "Hi, I'm Simon." Sarah looked at his hand for a second before turning her attention to the lecturer who had just entered the room. Simon awkwardly withdrew his hand. For the first time in a long while, a girl had completely ignored him. Instead of feeling offended, he found himself even more intrigued by the mysterious beauty sitting beside him. Chapter 3: The Unexpected Encounter After the lectures ended, students slowly began leaving the classroom. Simon quickly caught up with Sarah as she walked toward the parking lot. "Hey, Sarah," he called. She stopped and turned around. "What is it?" "I was wondering if you'd let me take you home." Sarah stared at him for a few seconds before letting out a small laugh. "You? Take me home?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. "Yeah." "Excuse me?" Without waiting for a response, Sarah turned and continued walking. Simon followed her with his eyes, expecting her to head toward the university gate. Instead, she stopped beside a brand-new pink Range Rover. His mouth nearly dropped open. Sarah unlocked the car, got inside, and started the engine. Before driving away, she lowered the window and looked at him. "Thanks for the offer, Simon." Then she drove off, leaving him standing there in complete shock. "What just happened?" he muttered. Back at the Avery mansion, Sarah rushed upstairs to prepare for the evening. She loved parties, and her parents had never been strict about them. As long as she was safe, they allowed her to enjoy her life. Standing in front of her mirror, Sarah carefully applied her makeup before slipping into a stunning dress that perfectly highlighted her beauty. Looking at her reflection, she smiled. "Perfect." Grabbing her purse, she headed downstairs. Michael and Evelyn were relaxing in the living room when they saw her. "You look beautiful, Princess," Michael said proudly. "As always," Evelyn added with a smile. Sarah kissed her mother on the cheek before hugging her father. "Bye, Mommy. Bye, Daddy." "Have fun," Evelyn replied. "And don't stay out too late," Michael said. "No promises," Sarah teased before rushing out of the house. The party was being held at one of the city's most popular clubs. Sarah had invited several friends to celebrate her first day at university. Music filled the air as people danced and laughed around her. Hours later, Sarah was seated in the VIP section, sipping her drink while chatting with her friends. Suddenly, she felt someone's hand lightly touch her back. Her smile disappeared. Slowly, she turned around. The moment she saw who it was, her eyes widened. "Simon?" The young man grinned. "Nice party." Sarah narrowed her eyes suspiciously. "What are you doing here?" "I came to have fun." "Or are you stalking me?" she asked. Simon placed a hand over his chest, pretending to be offended. "Stalking you? That's a serious accusation." "Then explain how you keep appearing everywhere I go." Simon laughed. "Trust me, Sarah. This city isn't big enough for you to be the only person attending parties." Sarah rolled her eyes. "Whatever." For some reason, Simon found her attitude amusing.
