The engagement

Everyone In the hallway looked at me in awe as I walked into my office.I definitely needed to step up my game if I wanted to secure a contract with Grayson group.Their company was the biggest shot in the city leading with over 30 billion.A lot of companies wanted to collaborate with them but even the biggest of companies need connection to sit down with their young master Blake Grayson.His name was always the the talk of town and topic of the days.He was labeled the hottest bachelor of the season by those who has met him.He never reveals his face.

Merging our small company with Grayson group is a big deal so I needed to win the contract at all cost.

My secretary stepped into my office after she knocked.

Gemma what do you have here I asked as she dropped an envelope on my desk.It’s better if you check it out yourself ma’am,I will take my leave now she replied hastily as she left.

I opened the envelope and saw it was an invitation addressed to me.I read the content of the invite and I felt my heart tighten in my chest.

It reads;

Miss Juliana Hart you have been invited to the engagement of Mr Jack Davies and Amy Hart.Please do grace us with your special presence as your are a special guest of honor.

I read with a heavy heart as tears flowed freely from my eyes,I couldn’t even stop it if I wanted to,First they cheated me now they are inviting me as a special guest just to humiliate me in front of others.

If I show up Amy will try something no matter what I do and if I don’t the media will say am not happy for my sister.There is just no winning against them so why try anyways.Now that I think about it I think it’s why all the staff were staring at me this morning like I had suddenly grown two heads.

I left the office in a rush to prepare to grace their engagement with my presence.I had lunch and rented out a gown for $3500,Crazy right,Tell me about it.

I texted Diane to ask if she got invited as well but she didn’t,Amy must really have something planned tonight.

The party was in full swing by10;00 in the night,A lot of elites were present from different cities.The lights suddenly went off while candle light bulbs came on,it gave the room a romantic feel.We all pulled out our phones and put on the torch light as the couple made their way to the stage.Amy decided to choose that moment to address the crowd just to get all the attention on her.

Hmmm hello everyone thank you so much for coming,you are all elegantly dressed and looking so sweet tonight.Jack and I do appreciate your presence here to celebrate us on our path to pure marital bliss,she said all this while looking at me and slowly flaunting her ring.Thank you now enjoy the party she said as the elite’s present broke into a round of applause.

I took champagne from a waiter and had a sip,it burned my throat but who cares,Jules you are drinking wow you must really be affected by my engagement because you’ve never really liked alcohol Amy said taunting me.

Well people change and you might never know I replied with a confident smile.

I moved to walk away but she blocked my path with her legs almost making me fall,Nice try Amy but you might need to do more than that to disgrace me tonight I said as I stepped back a little while she just glared at me scornfully.

You have just two days to also get married you should at least try to be happy for me so I can be happy for you.That way went never have to see each other again and you won’t spend your entire stupid life sulking about Jack choosing me over you!Amy retorted just to spite me.

My marriage is none of your business dear sister,I do not owe you any kind of explanation I believe I said desperate to get away from her.

We both walked separately until I decided to just set her off,And Amy as for Jack choosing you oh please we both know you seduced him,you’ve always liked my things since we were young be it my toys,clothes and now my man you sure have a thing for my used stuff.

He was your man and now he is mine Jules, she yelled as she tried to empty her drink on my clothes,I dodged it and the content hit Jack right in the face.It stained his white suit by changing the color to red.

Everyone in the hall gasped except for me.The waiters all scampered to help the groom.I laughed heartily as Amy stomped her foot harshly.I walked over to her determined to cause more damage,Well there goes the groom all dirty in red I laughed.I leaned down to show my support by hugging the couple.I wish you the brightest of all lives and if your wife tries to mess with me again I won’t be so nice and easy,two could play this game and Amy this was my engagement dress,you do like to copy me.

I let go of them with a pitiful smile and left the hotel hopefully to retire to my bed.
