My stomach growling wakes me a few hours later. I yawn and stretch, my muscles still sore and stiff. The sun is high in the sky but the curtains over the back door are drawn to make the room darker. I’m alone in the room. Getting out of the bed, I open the bedroom door and pause for a moment, listening. I hear Kane and Brandon talking down stairs.
