Melissaaaaaa!!!!!!shouted Ann, she is her roommate.They together with Fiona are in their last year of their course.They came from the same town so they decide that the three of them will just share the room. They are like siblings now. They are always there for each other like sisters. Through ups and down.

“What is it???” You are so noisy! Your voice occupies the whole apartment don’t you know it????” She said with a sigh. “ I got a box from my boyfriend!!!Ohhhh.” He never stops surprising me.” She screams.”

“Melissa come here, let’s see what’s inside the box! Ann called her. She went down the stairs to see Ann. They hurriedly opened the box. They bought gasped.”Ohhh…”Ann screams again. It’s beautiful!!. Ann picks her phone and dialed a number. She called Ethan. A moment later the two are now talking endlessly. Melissa just smiled and went up again. She can’t be like Ann. She has a family who is looking up to her. She had to finish her course whatever it takes and hopefully land a job right away.

“Love can wait…take care of your little sisters first…” The voice of her mother keeps ringing on her ears over and over again. “But I think you should give yourself a time to be happy also.. Liss” said Fiona. You see we’re not getting any younger.” Fiona repeatedly scold her. “Let’s go out tonight? Ok just the three of us. Me you and Ann. You know some kind of hang out to relieve ourselves from these crazy exams” Fiona added.

Melissa just nod to cut the conversation short. She knew that Fiona is soo consistent. She won’t take no for an answer. While Ann and Melissa are hopeless romantic type, Fiona is more of a liberated kind. Relationships for her is like an open book.

“ Hey Liss that guy over there keeps staring at you..” Fiona whispers on my ears. We are now sitting on a dark corner of this bar. The ambience of this place is all new to me. I feel a little dizzy after I sipped that drink Fiona handed me. I just smiled to Fiona. “Look Liss he is approaching us” She giggles a little. “Just give him a chance.Come on.” She added.

The guy who is heading us is smiling. I just stare at him blankly. “Hi girls!!!Do you mind if I join you??” By the way I’m Mark”. He said when he reach our table. “No. it’s okay. Come have a seat.” Ann said. Fiona is smirks. “Ann, let’s go get some drink again.” She said and she taps Mark on the shoulder.

Were left alone. I’m a little bit tipsy now while he keeps on rattling about himself. I just listen and smile occasionally. “Hey, are you listening??? He asks, “Or should I get you a cab now??You wanna go home now???Mark ask.

“No!!! The night is still young I said. Let’s get drunk .Haahahaha “ I said. I started to like this feeling. The feeling of being free of being worry-free I guess. So this is how it feels like. Suddenly I feel something on my back…It was Mark’s hands. He caressed my back.I felt a little tingling sensation with his gesture.He smiled.”You’re so pretty Liss” He whispered on the back of my ears. “Can we go somewhere…outside I guess..”He continued.

“Sure” I said.I was surprised I said that. We found ourselves on the bench on a nearby wharf. This is actually the favorite dating spot of my college friends. The wind is hustling softly and it made me shivers a little bit. I can also see pairs of lovers on the other corner of the wharf, giggling while cuddling each other.All of them are so free-spirited .No one cares about the other couples around.

Mark started to kiss me but I turn away.”Hey..slow down..”I said.”What’s the matter with you?”He seems upset.”I thought you agreed to come here with me??”He added.”Yesss…but I want you to take it slow…”I muttered softly. “I think you have to court me first…”I said.He started to smile.”Oh my God Melissa…where you from?That courting style does not exist anymore!Hahhaha.He continued to tease me.This made me furious.”I’m sorry Mark, I think I can’t do this.”I said and I left him right away. I walk away from Mark  in the middle of sweet couples. He was silent.After a few minutes I heard him calling my name.”Melissa …wait!!!”

“I’m sorry ok….”I thought you’re like the other girls I met in school.Please give me  another chance to prove myself to you.”He said while catching up with my long and fast strides.”Melissa ..I like you ..ok…I will court you ..and this time..I’ll take it slow.”He said. I glance at him.”Ok..I said.Just walk me home.I want to rest now.”I said. We were both silent as we walk our way to my apartment. My place is not that far anyway. He ask if he can just atleast hold my hand. And I said yes. After a few minutes we arrived at my place.

“Bye Melissa..”He said sadly.”Bye Mark” I said.

“Oh you’re early!!!Where is Ann and Fiona?”asks our landlady,she is like this, acting like a mother to her tenants.Sometimes it looks sweet but most of the time it looks like more of meddling and I started to disgust it.

“Oh they still having good time Miss”I said and I climb upstairs right away.I don’t want to talk to her.I want to rest.I want to think.
