CHAPTER I : The Encounter
Loving a person has its’ consequences – either be good or bad, you ‘ll see yourself staying even if you tend to forget. Forget yourself.
Hi! I’m Faith. An introvert writer. I call myself that way because that is what I want to see me in the future. A future with no assurance, that is dark, and nerve-wracking – really is, scary, frightening, difficult, stressful! Obviously a fond of adjectives. A word that describes my emotions.
“chiiiime” a message notification. I’d get my phone and saw an unknown number with a message “Hi”. I don’t know what to reply so I just staired to it and continued what I am doing at that moment. I was exhausted the whole day; I can say that, really a long day. I have been part of the community I felt that although I kept on being shy and silent person. Once became a Cashier under an agency. Agency of Divimart Store. I met a lot of people. Different people. I’d have a hard time hearing out my voice and I felt that. So, I just play the go with the flow thing. I follow. I say Yes, I say No. I nod, I walk a lot. I just kept on doing what I think was right. I kept on being a low-key that’s the term I know to describe my personality. I’d like to keep myself, my peace of mind. That I feel so okay if no things could make me feel bothered. A simple life to be called. I continued being like that not until the day for the store to prepared for its’ opening. I have heard something fishy. I observed things a lot. And tend to felt uncomfortably around people, but then I became a little bit excited, happy. Maybe, really happy. Someone is interested in you. “May nagka-crush sayo” my so-called friend told me. I’m a little bit confused because I have an idea who that was but I don’t want to entertained the feelings we could have so I’d pretend. I’d pretend for a long period of time. Up until the store was completely operating. I became a totally well knowledge cashier, yes, I can say that! Because I totally know how to control, manage and do the duties of the Cashier. I studied how to still smile despite my bare feet were aching. Though some of the customers were irate. And some of my work mates were annoying. Even there was this man who shown me attention. I felt that beat of heart and that nervousness whenever there were people calling out his name every time I passed by. So, kept on pretending that I don’t want to involved myself. I never did. until the days gone by. I saw and witness the changes. He became well known, good companion and a kind person to many. That could lead me to welcome the invite of being part of the group he has. I became close to the persons that called him a good and responsible friend; I’d like the feeling of people’s welcoming attitude. And an environment that was friendly. That was so securing. That days was just a day to considered. “People come and go". Some Cashiers stayed, and some resigned. I continued my service for almost a year but ends up with a decision of resigning. For some reasons and one of those reasons was him. A man that I never thought could change me. A lot.
