Part 11

Rose's POV

I was taken aback by Anna's actions. She slapped Abel accrossed the face. But why?

"Anna! How dare you?" I scolded, clearly annoyed...

"Hmph! Disgusting!" She said glaring at me...

The man that had been slapped was yet to recover from the shock as he stared at her confused...

Disgusting! She just called me disgusting...

"You both are nothing but shameless creatures. How could you even think about doing something like this to me? Do you think I have no feelings or emotions? Ha!..."

She scolded. What was she talking about? I stared at her, puzzled...

"So you came here as a couple, to catch up with the time you've missed together, making me believe all your drama? What are you both trying to do?" She glared...

"Ha! Abel, I thought you were a man of integrity, but it's clearly obvious you're not. Didn't you even think twice about putting up with this act? Making me believe you lost your memories? Are you trying to extract your revenge from me by keeping me from the person that matters a lot to me...?"

She asked the man who wore a confused expression...

"And you Rose, what were you telling him? You were reminding him about the fact that I wasn't competent enough, right? Probably saying I was the worst girlfriend and I'm now trying to fit in, is it?"

"No Ann. You misunderstood. Actually..."

"Actually what? Do you both think I'm dumb? If I misunderstood, then what are you both doing together, that too in a hotel, sharing wine, in a private suit like this? Abel!"

Anna was furious. She was Someone who always had it cool, but when she loses her cool, she could bring down the heavens...

"So you both invited me here so I could witness how lovey dovey you get isn't it? You know I had been wondering if you both had really been intimate before, but now it's obvious you've been, and it's normal right?"

"Anna! Stop talking nonsense" came Abel's furious voice...

"Oh please! And who are you to stop me? Do you even know how I feel right now? No you won't. You just think about yourself and your ego. Well, I've got news...

I'm done with this whole drama. Infact, I'm having my wedding tomorrow itself" she said, making my heart ache...

I turned to Abel, whose expression completely darkened, filled with shock...

"Surprised? I'll make sure that tomorrow, this same time, Kevin and I will be husband and wife" Anna said, before adding...

"To hell with both of you"

With that said, she stared at us, while Abel suddenly began screaming, while holding his head...

"Argh!"

It's obvious he was having a severe headache...

"Anna, please let's rush him to the hospital"

I pleaded...

"Another drama huh!" She scoffed and walked away, not even glancing at us...

Before long, we arrived the hospital. Abel was taken away for a test while I stood at the hallway, my mind dazed...

Just as Anna returned home, she spotted a familiar car parked in front of her apartment. She was surprised, knowing who was inside. He had never visited her at such an akward hour. It was almost 11pm, so what was he doing here?

"Roy, are you okay?" She asked the young man who stepped out of his car, looking dull...

"I'm good. Let's go in" he said, pulling the lady towards the door...

Once they were inside, Anna sank on the couch, still trying to settle her emotions. It was then that Roy noticed she was off...

"What's with that look?" He asked raising his chin towards her...

"I want my court wedding done tomorrow itself" Roy was taken aback by her words...

"You what?" He raised a brow...

"Yes! You heard me right. Abel was just toiling with my emotions. He never forgot anything. I just saw him with Rose. He was on a date with her" she said, feeling wronged...

Roy stared at her, examining her from head to toes...

"And where are you from?" He asked

"Well, I'm from catching a thieve" Anna replied her expression darkening...

She turned to see her brother, looking at her, his brows furrowed obviously displeased with her reply...

"Fine! I was supposed to go on a date with Abel. He invited me but it was just to mock me. He was having a nice time with his lovely wedded wife" she said in greeted teeth...

Roy couldn't help but chuckle slightly...

"And who told you he was acting?" Roy asked...

"Isn't it obvious?"

"I thought you said no feelings attached..." Roy said, his tone mocking...

"I'm not in love with him. He just wanted to mock me and he succeeded. You can't even imagine that he was still trying to pretend despite being caught red handed, faking a headache..."

With her words, Roy's expression darkened...

"Where's he?"

"Are you asking me? Do I look like his wife?" Anna raised a brow...

"Come with me" Roy said, walking out of the house...

Anna was taken aback before slowly following...

Anna was puzzled and kept asking her brother where they were going to. He didn't say a word until they appeared infront of Abel's building...

Anna felt like strangling the man infront of her, but knew better...

"What am I doing here?" She asked, trying hard to control her emotions...

"Well, he's not pretending. You better find a good excuse for whatsoever you did. I know you definitely did something funny"

Roy got out of the car, walked through the gates of the mansion, and returned after a while...

"He's not at home" Roy said to the lady settling in the car...

"So..." Anna raised a brow...

Roy said nothing, driving straight to the hospital...

Once they got there, they got out of the car, and headed straight inside the hospital...

Once there, Roy went to the attending nurse at the front desk and exchanged words with her. Sure enough, he was in a private room in the hospital...

"Come with me" he ordered the lady who simply followed him, still feeling annoyed...

After walking for a while, they stopped infront of a room. Roy pushed open the door, carefully making his way in...

The four people in the room tuned to look at the people who just entered, surprised...

"Hi. Good evening" Roy greeted everyone in the room while his sister remained quiet...

Clyde nodded while the Rose and Laura replied with a warm smile...

Abel who was laid on the bed, kept his gaze fixed on Anna who had blurted out so much earlier on...

"Anna..." Anna was staring at her palms when she heard her name...

She stared at Clyde who had just called her and asked...

"Are you alright?"

Anna simply nodded, not saying a word...

She was still convinced that Abel was putting up an act. She only came here because her brother forced her to. On their way to the hospital, he had even asked her to appologize to him, even going as far as calling him lovely names...

With that thought, she suddenly burst into laughter, taking everyone aback, including Roy...

"Hahahaha..."

"...."

"Are you alright?" Laura asked. She was still trying to come to terms with everything Rose told her. Why did Anna slap Abel? Though it was obvious she felt bad after misunderstanding they were playing games with her, but wasn't slapping Abel a bit too much?

"Maybe you should ask your friend and her husband..." Anna said, her expression suddenly darkening

"Anna!" Roy scolded

"Anna, please can we talk?" Clyde asked...

She wanted to accept, but decided against it. Abel had obviously asked his friend to brain wash her and she wasn't going to fall for it. Whatever games they were playing, she wasn't interested, though she couldn't actually pin point why they were putting up with the act that Abel had partial amnesia...

"No! I don't want to talk. I'm tired"

Clyde was shocked, but managed to mask his feelings. Was she really that mad?

"Ann, you misunderstood..." Abel who had been quiet finally spoke up...

It took everything in Anna not to roll her eyes...

She was about saying something when her phone began ringing...

She stared at her phone, her eyes softening significantly, mixed with fear and hurt...

She rejected the call, switching it off immediately...

No one might have noticed what she was doing, but Abel watched her every action studying her...

This woman had earlier mentioned that she was going to be getting married to Kevin tomorrow itself. Could it be that he was the one calling her at such an odd time?

"I'm sorry for my earlier outburst. Don't take my words to heart. I was just angry" with that, she turned to leave when Roy got a grib if her hand...

"Where are you off to? Your man is sick"

*Anna's POV*

I arrived home the following morning after escorting Abel home...

Yeah! I spent the night at the hospital thanks to my brother. He was against me helping Abel and now he was forcing me to carter for him...

I pushed the door and there sat Corine, my supposed mother in-law. She was here with Kevin. Last night, while I was at the hospital, Kevin had called. Immediately I rejected his call, he immediately sent a message saying he was at my place with his mother. That his mother insisted spending the night at my place...

"Good morning aunt" I greeted politely...

She forced a smile and said...

"I understand you had a relative to care for at the hospital. But you should have passed by when you heard I was here"

Wow! Kevin came up with a pretty good excuse...

"I understand" I nodded with an appologetic smile...

I wanted to sit next to her, when the door suddenly swung opened and there came the one person I least expected, my ex, Abel...

He walked into the house, staring at Kevin and his mother, his eyes bloodshot...

After a while, his lips formed a sly smile, and he approached me, holding me by the waist, placing a kiss on my forehead...

At that point I felt like disappearing...
