Kelita's POV:
I caught myself before I gave in to the fear I was feeling. The wolf form came to a grinding halt in front of my mother, who was visibly trembling.
It seemed to be examining her.
Then, suddenly, it turned around and ran back to the podium where the body was laid out, circling as the high priestess chanted.
Then, it sprinted toward the ceiling before disappearing.
I released the breath I hadn’t realized I was holding. That was when the murmurs began so fast that I couldn’t make out a single word.
That was also when I realized the room was tilting to the side.
Then, I lost consciousness.
