The explosion jolted me awake. For a split second, I thought I was dreaming… hallucinating from the pain meds or maybe just losing my mind entirely.
But no, the walls shook, the windows rattled, and the distant screams confirmed that this was real. Something was happening outside my hospital room, something big.
I hadn’t been discharged yet…not after the last assault I suffered at Jonas’s hands.
