“Go ahead, Luna—I mean, Alpha Queen,” the Beta said, and I narrowed my eyes at him.
Oh, he did not just do that. That wasn’t some innocent slip of the tongue. He said it on purpose. But whatever. I’d let it slide. For now. He had something I wanted.
“We haven’t been properly introduced,” I said, keeping my tone light, like I hadn’t caught the jab. “Mattie just mentioned you in passing, and I figured I’d take the chance to say hello. Kelita, nice to meet you.”
