Leeyah's POV:
It was at dusk that we set out in the direction that Kiki was leading us. I had no idea where the sacred mountain was. I had only ever heard of it and that it was special to the healers.
“Are you okay?” Eden asked, his voice gentle.
I nodded, and he intertwined our fingers as we walked side by side.
It was almost midnight when we burst out in a clearing. I was beyond exhausted at this point but Eden said we had to keep moving before the creatures of the forest thought we were tasty enough for dinner.
“We are at the gates." Kiki announced to us and I took a moment to marvel at her stamina for her age.
She reached out and touched what seemed like thin air. A moment later, shimmering symbols appeared, swirling in a circular motion until they formed a doorway.
