I sat by Leeyah as she slept. She had woken up two hours ago, but after the healers checked on her, she fell back asleep.
Watching her fall like that almost took me out.
And that’s saying something, coming from someone like me, a warrior who’s no stranger to killing.
I sighed and turned to see that it was almost evening.
I had spent my entire day here without even realizing it.
