The festivities were still in full swing, but I chose to stay away. How could I take part in murder?
If I joined this fiasco, I wouldn’t dare show my face to Esme when we were reunited.
Kiki was missing. Our agreement was clear…if she found anything, she would drop off a copy of her findings before leaving. But she hadn’t. She simply disappeared.
Not to mention what happened at the start of the ceremony. If the High Priestess hadn’t reined in the spirit of Alpha Jonathan’s wolf, it would have been a complete disaster…one that was barely avoided.
