I stared at her, my jaw tight. She knew. And yet, she acted like she didn’t.
"Why?" I asked through gritted teeth, my voice barely restrained.
"Why what, honey?" she replied lazily, twisting in her makeshift swing until she hung upside down. "You have to use words I can actually understand."
I sighed deeply, trying to keep my anger in check.
“Why did you act like you weren't my mate?!" I hissed at her
Her brows knitted together as if she was genuinely confused. "Act like I wasn’t your mate? No, I just didn’t acknowledge it. Oh, wait…same thing, huh? Well, sucks to be you, I guess."
