Emory’s POV.
About thirty after leaving the airport, Alessandro and I arrived at my packhouse and we walked inside together, although I was at his front while it seemed as though he was intentionally taking slow steps behind me. A part of me wanted to ask what the sour attitude was about but the larger part of me was focused on how Ruby sounded in her mind link and how restless Goldie had been ever since.
“Alpha Emory! you are back” Bella was the first person amongst the pack council to notice me. I gave her a curt nod as I allowed my eyes to wander through the whole room in search of Jamal and by the time my eyes settled on him, I saw he was already looking at me and I also didn’t miss how his pupils dilated with so many questions.
