chapter One
Elizabeth stopped to look at the photograph of her parents displayed in the house that now feels so empty. The house was not something very big, was hardly spectacular, but it had once been her home. For the moment it still was. Her eyes moved to the asking price , the turnover of houses in california wasn't very fast at the moment because a lot of people were away on holiday it might be months before a buyer turns up.
It had been only two weeks ago that she had been able to take action, make a decision on what to do about her parents house. Prior to that she had been in shock, depression which was just lifting. The horror of her parents death is going to take much longer than six months to adjust to. She caught sight of her own reflection in the window, her black hair having some loose strands from the bun falling on her face. Her hand came up to adjust her blouse, she wore a black skirt and blue blouse it felt as if she were in school uniform.

I took a decision to continue with my life instead of shutting myself out from the world. So I brought out my phone and called james on the way to my office, I really feel bad for not been in touch with my best friend for more than a week now. I and James have been friends since high school, his the ladies man very handsome and presently a billionaire I have always had a crush on him which has developed into love but I can't let him know because he doesn't feel the same about me and also don't want to spoil our friendship, he dates only models and dont take relationship seriously. James picks on the second ring, I asked him to meet me at our favorite spot for lunch. When I entered the office my receptionist and friend Annie was happy to see me. I have a lot of work piled on my desk which I abandoned due to my grief, oh I didn't mention I own a small company that deals on landscaping and consultancy.
Few minutes after I entered my office my young receptionist came in telling me I had a lot of messages but she told me the two most important message, one from Mr Blake saying his very interested in deal we made and is expecting my call and the other message is from my father's solicitor saying he will call back since I wasn't in the office. There is always sadness in my heart whenever my father or mother is mentioned. Annie has been very patient, understanding and wonderfully supportive.
