Chapter Twelve

I went back to the plantation in tears. I was so lost in my anguish that I hadn't noticed she had followed me. Helios met me at the door. "I think we have a visitor. Come out, young lady, I know you're there." She slowly came out from behind the bushes. "Miss Rose?!..." I was surprised but feared for her. "You need to leave. And leave Erin alone." Stated Helios. "Who are you tellin' what?! I don't answer to you! Neither does he!" Helios then, without warning, grabbed her by the throat. "Do you know how easy it would be for me to kill you right now?!" Helios squeezed her throat and showed his fangs. "Now... you see? He's the same, you know? He's just like me." The fear in her eyes grew. "Helios stop! Don't hurt her please!" I begged. He let go and she dropped to the ground gasping for air. "What do you think of him now lady?" Asked Helios, standing above her. I went to her and knelt down beside her. "Are you alright? I am so sorry! He's usually not like that." "Im fine." She said, still trying to catch her breath. "What is he?" She asked, looking up at me. "He's a Vampire." I replied. "And you? Are you a Vampire too?" I put my head down in shame. "Yes. But I'm not a bad person. Nor is Helios. You just caught him on a bad day." "Is that why you didn't want to see me anymore?" I smirked and nodded. "Silly man..." She said, smiling. "I don't care what you are. I love you. I know you would never hurt me. Your friend, on the other hand, I'm not so sure." She said, rubbing her throat. "Im sorry. He's usually very passive," I said, looking at Helios unpleasantly. Helios just walked into the house. "Why dont you come in and we'll get some ice for that." "I don't know. I don't think your friend wants me here." "He won't mind really. I'm sure he feels terrible." "Alright..." she said, going inside. We then both proceeded to the sitting room.
