The Weight Of Life

“Look at her, she’s so skinny and ugly. Her parents don’t even give her anything. The pimples on her face are so disgusting, which means no man will even look at her.” Those were the words of people she called family, people who were supposed to lift her up, comfort her and protect her, but they were the ones saying all those nasty things about her , right in her face. She’s realized their intentions were to pull her down and make her lose her self-esteem. Guess what, she didn’t fumble nor she was shaken. She wiped away her tears and stood strong. She promised her self to never give them the satisfaction of seeing her breaking down. That went on for so many years, she never told a sole what she was going through. She just fought her battles silently and alone. She was able to survive all that by her self, so I would call her my little heroine. At school, she was bullied, guess who? The people whom she called friends and acquaintances. Who could ever thought those are the people who would make her school life a living hell? Sometimes she blamed herself for being too friendly and so naive. Older her, still blames herself for not standing up for herself back then. She has learned her lessons and she promises to never let that happen anymore. She will now never stand any form of disrespect. She will always speak her mind and put the bullies in their place.
